Chicago testimony
by NoMoreMeetings injust got back from speaking in the chicago area sunday night about my personal road out of jw's and into the full-time ministry of pastoring a church.
it was very well attended, and many were helped with how to reason with jw's when the come to the door.
several who attended are now happily established in local churches, after leaving the wt.

Parallels between Jonestown and WT org?
by skeptic1914 inhow many saw the recent "jonestown-paradise lost" on the history channel?
i realize the suicide/murder of over 900 in jonestown, guyana on novemebr 18, 1978 may be old news but i've always been interested in how cult leaders hold power over their believers.
i've been reluctant to classify jw as a cult but some obvious parallels struck me:.

One True Religion?
by blondie ininteresting topic from beliefnet.
12/14/2006 11:54 pm .
taking the position that jesus christ is, in fact, the son of god who paid the price for our sins, i dont believe our affiliation with any christian religion "gives a person an 'an edge'" in their approval by god and christ.

Has being a Jehova's witness totally shattered your faith?
by Silvia Plath injust because the watchtower society is wrong doesn't mean that there is no god, nor does it mean there is a god.
it would interesting to now how former members have adjusted thier cosmology, or whether they are now atheists and why.
i personally see religion as a more personal matter, rather than belonging to an organization.
