I was a stone mason and I was always told that masons were the keepers of secrets. All to do with hidden joins in stone (it was a mystery to lay people so they were given special treatment) which came to symbolise hidden spiritual truths whch made them the elite in the middle ages...

Anyhow I didn't realise there was a debate about Russell being a mason. I usd to have one of his books and it was explaining hidden meaning in Cheops pyrimid and the sacred eye symbol. I realise that is not direct freemasonry but hey, people reading this stuff in 1910 wouldn't have even thought twice about the obvoius connection (plus his grave symbols).

Describe your first thoughts upon hearing the 1914 generation 'new light'

we all remember where we were and what we were thinking during highly significant events....(e.g.

9-11, jfk, etc)..... if you can recall, what were the first thoughts racing through your mind as you sat at the 1995 d.c. at the infamous 1914 generation change announcement, was it "the final nail in the coffin of your wts beliefs or did you engage in mental gymnastics to try to assimilate the "fresh meat in due season" lol....... i was in such shock at this announcement, i think my mind just blanked out for 10 minutes followed by: "ok, this really is it for me......they have duped us all along", i then immediately started thinking of my 90 year old jw grandmother sitting in the stadium, and what must have been going through her mind......

It was the beginning of the most amazing part of my life.

Initially I was sick. To find out what I had been preaching as a non negotiable (the wts own words) was suddenly dropped by a couple of page article in the wt!!!

Scales lifted off my eyes that day. I talked to friends and they said what change?! Now that's the beginning of paranoia. Ha Ha.

My marriage was only hanging by a thread, so once the jws were dropped so were the vows. My kids went on to uni etc, so I became who I was sposed to be all those years before being a cult member.

Thankyou wts for exposing honest hearted people to your web of intrigue. I still many more avenues to explore!!!

What makes you resemble your parents the most?

i have my fathers strange brownish/reddish curly hair, his cheeks his eyebrows and his jawline.

i have my mothers face shape and eyes, i think.

i also have my mother's figure (pleasantly plump!).

I don't remember that much of my mum as she died when I was a child.

I guess I inherited my fathers love of learning and curiousity.

I made a promise that I would do and think the opposite of my father at an early age and it appears to have been good personal advice

He's not a great role model.....

kurt vonnegut is definitely one of my heroes.

he was only on for like 8 minutes but i was totally enthralled.. my favorites of his are galapagos, cat's cradle and welcome to the monkey house.

my 8-year-old son asked me yesterday if i liked going to the kh.

i told him "no, not really.

" he said that he doesn't really like to go all the time either, but we have to go if we want to get into paradise.. i allow him to go to the kh with my parents when he wants to because he does like to go.
