  isnt this just pathetic.

  i work for my father (a current jw) and we have some jw customers.

  since my recent fading, one particular customer, an elder, has come into work for business and then carried it further to encouraging me offering a hearing ear etc.

  In his eyes he will gain a massive boost in the congregation if he can reactivate a fellow witnesses daughter.

  Your parents will idolise him and he will be able to give his "experience" at the next convention.

  In other words he won't back off until you make it clear that you no longer want to be associated with jws.

  Of course he will again score points by relating his humble, fruitless efforts at the next elders meeting

  The embarrasment around "Stairway" is because it was soooo played in the 70's and 80's and 90's that it became a cliche.

  But yeah, I still like it.

  valium -- a trademark used for diazepam.

  diazepam -- a tranquilizer, used in the treatment of anxiety and tension and as a sedative, a muscle relaxant, and an anticonvulsant.

  In the past I used valium to bring me down from bad acid trips and I must say it was amazingly effective. But

  A number of years ago a had a herniated disc in my lower back. Agony with early zero sleep for weeks. My doctor (amongst other drugs) put me on valium 5 mls 3 times a day. I was a zombie.

  After a couple of months I just couldn't take the fog any longer and stopped cold. Bad move. Hallucinations, sweats, poor sleep. I was hooked.

  It took a couple of weeks to get through (on top of the back pain).

  My doctor never mentioned side effects, I'm sure because at the time that was considered a minor dose.

  people have made claims that i am anti-american for expressing dissatisfaction about american foreign policy or dismay at the ills of american socity.. to be honest, i do not think i am anti-american.

  i think i am more pro american than many of the people in the country who like to wave flags and buy t-shirts but who seem happy to turn a blind eye when things are not right and happy to see it's ideals sold to the highest bidder.

  imo the true patriots are those who are willing to stand up and take the flak for saying "this isn't good enough, we demand better".

  ive attended meetings at a handful of kingdom halls in my day.

  i would venture a guess of approximately five or six.

  ive also driven by many more.

  Possibly to do with air con as well

  Most halls in Australia have heaps of windows due to heat but aircon was coming into vogue when I left and windows make the system less efficient ( aka solar heating of glass)
