what was your experience?.

do you believe it to be the spirit of a person, or a demon, or some other explaination such as a hoax?.

Had a few unexplained experiences. The strangest was in the jungles of Sumatra with a wise woman.

Long story but basically she turned into an old woman right before my eyes. I asked for the ceremoney more for the historical interest as she is the last of the shamans (christianity wiped them out...lutherans. Not a bad thing though as head hunting was a popular past time).

She correctly explained where I lived while possessed by the "old people", plus other details but what struck me was on returning the next day, the first thing she asked (via a translater) was what did I dream? Yes I had a most vivid dream of hundreds of old people one by one coming forward and welcoming me with a smile and nod.

I knew little of shamanic practice at the time and subsequent reading has helped me understand the depth and meaning of other statements made by her.

the leader that can convince his people to follow his example, and trust him.. or the leader that threatens his people, and carries a big gun.

my experience since leaving the jw's, knowing certain ones who still have contact, is that many jw's in good standing have done, or are doing things that could merit expulsion.

celebrating new year.

agreeing to blood transfusion.

Many of the same stories but one I am intrigued with is gluttony.

Apparantly the holy sprit doesn't recognise this disfellowshipable offense.

I have never heard of a case of even reproof but have met so many gluttonous jws. One guy I worked with ate ab. shit all day and boasted to all that he would eat a tub of ice cream each night. Finally his hips gave out under the weight and he needed a double hip replacement. Now an invalid pensioner and an elder.

He needed serious (pych) help and yet he shepards the flock.

What were you disfellowshipped for?

i recently had a discussion with a witness friend (i'm a secret) and she claimed that witnesses only get disfellowshipped for being unrepentant for immoral acts.

i am curious to know from those who have been disfellowshipped, what was it for?

It's funny 'cause I only spoke to one elder in the street. He asked me if I was coming back.? No

Did I believe jws have the truth? No

Well, write a letter to disassociate. No

They knew my phone number and address.

May be the holy spirit made an exception in my case

" the last of these three statements actually reads: "surely i come quickly.

" ( rev 22:7, 12, 20 ) does the passage of nearly 2000 years since those words were written indicate that this bible prophecy is trustworthy?

Generation Change

i left the org slightly before the change in the "generation that was alive in 1914" thing was announced and wondered, what were peoples in the congregations reactions after this was announced and did it you notice people falling away because of it?

has it had a damaging effect?

As I have noted here before, when that "new light" came out, I never graced a kh again.

I had hammered people's doors for 20 yrs telling them that the gen of 1914 will see armageddon. When I approached the "elders" with my shock and dismay about this radical turnaround, they said "What change?" !!

A couple of hrs on the wt CD cleared my head of the wt gobbledegook.

Most jws don't seriously read/study the wt propaganda. Worshipping a god is secondary to being in a community of like thinkers.
