My dreams have become much more powerful since leaving jws. Always in colour, and sometimes smells. Some dreams have had profound effects on me, others are just emptying the subconscious garbage can. At one stage I was terrified of some of the images, now I have learned to observe and sit with the feelings raised. Sometimes I wake laughing in pure joy, others more sombre, especially when they have my children in them. Recently, I spoke to my son after a particularly strong dream involving his emotional state and all he could say was you must be psychic. Generally I try not to dig too deep for a "sign" but to just enjoy the trip!

Dream On, Brother [and Sister], Dream On!!!
by Rapunzel in) is any one here capable of remembering his/her dreams?.
) does anyone believe that dreams - and the analysis/interpretation of dream - provide a "key" to solve any of life's problems?
can the analysis/interpretation of one's dreams be therapeutic?.

Where do you start to find the answers to God?
by Hope4Others ini thought i have relatively had everything figured out, like life, death, god does he exist or does he not.
is the bible make believe?.
can we really be sure that it is inspired, after all we were not around to see the process being done.

I have eased back on reading as far as the big questions.
Meditation in what ever form you prefer seems to ease the mind, which allows the subconscious to bubble up.
Then those questions are unimportant

a couple of movies I don't get
by Hortensia ini watched "children of men" a couple of nights ago.
it was pretty interesting, but i have to say i didn't get it completely.
maybe because i missed the beginning.

Yeah Gregor
No country for Old Men had a strong finish. How I saw it, the world has moved on. The crimes being committed today defy logic. Beyond honour or dishonour. Something his father never would have undertood (remember him wondering what his father would have done in today's world at the beginning of the movie).
Also the hitman was so detached but then seemed to have a strange logic, or inevitability that I could only see him as a symbol of our ultimate destiny, death.
In the end, the cop retires rather than confront the killer. He's worn out.
When he talks of the dream about his father, he says he is waiting at the camp fire for him.
After death?

Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw
by reniaa ini thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.
i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!
she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

I have read most of the stuff you have written and have read all of this. I can only come to the conclusion that when you return, you will (once more) become the victim of another's actions. In my opinion, the issue is not to do with your religious choices, it is more to do with your passive attitude to life and unwillingness to except responsibility for your personal decisions.
Seriously, I recommend therapy around your relationship and attitude to your parents.
The jws will not fill that void nor will "the world" until you grow up.

Tsunami Contributions
by DisconnectingDrone inone of the things that woke me up to the hypocrisy was when the tsunami struck in 2004. the elders used a box for a tsunami fund, we raised around 750, the elders put a vote out to use some of the congregations funds and we increased this to nearly 3 times this amount.. the congregation got a letter thanking us for the donation but requesting that for future donations we do not stipulate where the money should be channeled too (i assume the elders requested this go to those affected by the tsunami) as "they have already set aside money for this disaster relief and this makes things very difficult for them and all future relief money should goto the wwf".. at the end of the day they would not have got this money if their was no disaster-but that stank to me, i realized i was part of a greedy corporate empire that wanted money and didn't give a toss about the people affected by this tsunami.

I did some work in Sri Lanka for a non profit org after the tsunami and I was gobsmacked that all he major "charities" had done nothing except suck in billions through ad campaigns! The people were just ruined by having their hopes raised and nothing....
The kids couldn't even get to school in our area as there was no money for replacing desks and other equipment and no money for wages. What little that got through had been stashed by corrupt government officials. Sorry to tell you (all the people who gave so freely) this.
As far as jws giving practical help..
What is there to say?

If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....
by Mightyone inthis may be the topic of an old thread but, if the g.b.
and wts don't have good motives, what is the point of the whole religion?
i mean, it doesn't appear that anybody is getting rich or am i missing something.

I believe they face the same terror that we did, all who have moved on from their teachings.
Their whole lives revolve around the ritual of meetings, preaching and hangin' out with people who believe the same.
To revoke their beliefs is to face death of the ego, basically a form of madness, as they would need to reform their whole persona.
It's fear of admitting their lives have been in vain (and change) that creates their blindness just like most thinking witnesses.

Knowledge is power (to the fools)! Lol

Yer funny bastard S.
It truly is a cosmic joke between "satan" and "god".
Maybe a fable explaing the human condition to teach us the fuzziness and cultural conditioning of truth and justice ?

I came into the world alone and will leave it the same.
No one can walk with you through death, so I will choose to leave with love, courage and honour.
