  How Have YOU Changed Since Leaving The Witnesses?

  The commune has 8 shares. All owned in common though. It's around 200 acres of old rainforest country that is slowing regrowing after 200 yrs of degeneration. We have community dinner once a week and have community work days to repair roads etc.

  Ages range from 2yrs to mid 50's. It's not so diffent to suburbia really, as all the hassles and happiness happen here too. I guess the difference is that stuff gets sorted out at meetings...It has to or the place would fall apart.

  There's lots of vegie gardens, solar power etc but most work off the property to survive this strange world we live in.

  I am a totally different person, possibly unrecognisable from 10m yrs ago.

  I was grinding away at a mortgage. Unhappy marrige and unhappy kids, as they were having doubts but I was too busy trying to keep it all together to see it. I was "old" and boring and bored and tired out at 43.

  I now live in a commune, have restrendthened my relationship with my kids and their partners (and grand kids now)and my ex. I travel overseas every 6 months, dance like no one's watching and have a happy and vibrant life.

  Now I am a truly spiritual person, not a wannabe putting on a uniform 3 times a week, trying to worship a truly invisible god.

  i get this daily email from a bible thumping friend of mine this was part of todays topic.. sometimes we wonder, "why do we have to go through these trials & breakings, lord?

  " well, there are some things the lord can't reveal to you in advance because you're not yet ready.

  he's got to let you go through some testings without your even knowing what the future holds, to see if you can take it, to see how loyal you are, to see how strong you are, to see how faithful you are, to see if you will be willing to do whatever he asks!

  What about poor old Job and the family.

  All doing the "right" thing worshipping god. God listens the the "Great Deceiver" and let's satan rip them to shreds, to prove he is REALLY REALLY TRULY faithful.

  Did NOAH take WHALES into the ARK?

  blue whale is the largest animal on earth,.... it would take huge cranes and a lot of manpower to carry one of those animals,.... how did noah achieve this?.

  did he have cranes and chains?.

  did he have a large enough aquarium on board, with salt water?.

  As far as dolphins surviving in fresh water (well the Murray river isn't too fresh any more with salinity killing the fresh water fish!!). This is done in very irregular times and short periods e.g. when sick with parasites.

  (And of course being an Aussie UB, you would know that the ocean water can travel hundreds of miles up the Murray in drought times).

  Wasn't the flood covering the earth for 12 months? Impossible.

  And the "canopy" being salt water? Physically and scientifically impossible to have that much salt in the atmosphere.

  Can't wait to find a creationist to try this one on.

  Hmmmm

  Didn't the water fall from the sky? That makes the ocean at that time fresh water, well at least impossibly diluted.

  Whales and dolphins living in fresh water with no food as all the salt water fish would have died...

  Plus would fresh water support the weight and size of a whale?

  Despite commenting on lots of spiritual threads, I am an atheist in the sense that I don't believe there is an intelligent omnipotent "god" interested in my spiritual well being.
  
  Spirituality for me is tapping in to the deep subconscious of self/humanity. There is a vast mine of human past present future experience that I believe we can tap into.
  
  So I have faith in myself.

  My Marriage just ended I feel so sick and stressed please help me. Serious.

  my wife and i split from the witnesses about 2 years now....and now she says we need a divorce asap!

  she doesn't want to work thru it.

  lately and for awhile she has been amazingly aggressive to me.....and pretty much everyone else she knows.

  I know you haven't gone through the mechanics of separation yet but by your post you seem convinced there is little chance of reconciliation.
  
  I know exactly how you feel. I've been divorced and that initial separation is pure shock. All your power is drained away, feelings of hopelessness and you just want it all to go away. That's why there are thoughts and feelings of death. It is a death, the death of a loving long term relationship that has now shifted.
  
  All I can tell you is my way of dealing with it. At first I didn't. I got sooo depressed and lost, not eating and sleeping, anxious over every little thing and entertaining thoughts of getting back together.
  
  Restlessness.
  
  So first thing is to eat well and exercise so sleep patterns can be reestablished.
  I too didn't get a lawyer, as my wife also said let's do this fairly. I'm sorry but it just gave her more time to engage an expensive lawyer and attempt to take me to the cleaners. I could be wrong but at least get legal advice.
  
  Thirdly and this can be the most difficult(at first)is to start a new life as a single person. Go out on your own, even just for coffee or lunch. Choose a place where people are relaxing and open to chat. Started an amazing journey for me.

  i samuel 17:54 - "and david took the head of the philistine and brought it to jerusalem".

  why did david do this, especially when the city of jerusalem was over 20 miles away and also under jebusite control at the time?.
