Good on ya' Mr Flipper!
Thanks for the feedback. When I finish work, I will reread and ponder...
gawd- i had a crazy dream last night.
in books i've read about dreaming- it has stated many times dreams are about " unfinished situations " in your life that are trying to sort out within your dreams.. my dream was : my son flipper junior and me were being chased by government thugs who wanted us to release some important numbers - a code we had written down.
only problem was is this code had information that would cost our families & friends lives if these government people got them from us.

I am a vivid dreamer and usually can "see" where my dreams come from or mean but I have one occasionally that has mystified me.
I am looking at an alpine peak, which is only a few metres in front of me. It has wisps of mist rising and clumps of snow on its tiny outcrops. The face is granite like and sheer. The feeling with it is of crisp clarity and awesome power with a little fear. The air is thin and cool. In one dream I ascended to its summit and there was a perfect white building with people dressed in white, then it faded into dreamy nothingness.....
No, I don't believe in heaven and it didn't have that kind of feeling at all.
i've started reading a book called the modern buddhist's bible and i'm liking a lot of things about the religion so far.
of course i don't know much yet, but there seem to be some very good points to buddhism.
one thing i love is the emphasis on "killing" the ego (or whatever you might want to call what buddhists try to do with their egos!).
As I recall, there is no one "buddhism" but numerous (I think 3 main schools) different sects. I have spent time in McCloud Ganj where the Dalai Lama lives and have spent quite a lot of time in Thailand, Sri Lanka etc. In my opinion, buddhism is like any other religion, an intense heirarchy of priests and nuns who are locked in to mindless repetition when it comes to worship.
The original beliefs, like christianity, have certain merit but encourage a lone journey in life rather than a collective. Interestingly, after the tsunami in Sri Lanka, I saw christians being far more active in assisting their fellow beings than any other religion.
By their fruits you will know them?
just curious, to those of you who have left the "truth", where has your spiritual journey lead you?
have you found another religion?
are you not really a religious person?
I didn't decide to take a "spiritual journey" after moving on from jws. It was thrust upon me. I had images of being a leaf grippng on to the bank of a fast flowing body of water. I was terrified of letting go of my former self. Once I accepted the inevitable and actually swam with the tide, I went through many enlightening, life threatening, mind twisting experiences but came to the conclusion that all "truth" is right here inside of me. I am personally responsible for my thoughts and actions, there is no god in the classical sense but there is definitely a spirit world if you choose to enquire and that the balance of living in the physical and spiritual world is the key to saving humanity, from the humanist scientific madness that is spiralling the planet to speedy and inevitable destruction.
when i was 'in', that of course was a big thing, and i well knew all the scriptures and resonings behind it.. not long ago i saw a u tube video that took me into deepest space from the hymalian mountains and back in again.
what struck me was the shear immensity of just our own universe, let alone the rest of the known one.
i realized how tiny tiny nothing this little planet is.
Or...
(God) I've got more power than you, so there!!
(Satan) No way! I got the whole team to join me, so double there!!
(God) Mwwwaaahh! I'm taking my bat and ball and NOONE can play!!! You'll see Satan, the rest of the team will want to play with me, you just wait...
Six thousand years later....
Religion tends to be about socialising with a group that has set beliefs about behaviour and worship, so most exjws tend to have a "once bitten twice shy" attitude to this practice.
Spirituality is a broad church, so to speak but generally is based on the search for meaning, or at least an inner journey of self discovery. Personally, I have ultimately found that the spiritual search leads to repetitious behaviours, as we humans gain great comfort from habit and socialising with like minded people. This could be called religious practice.
Enjoy the ride!!
why's it so hard to find them?
it seems like everyone i see around me smokes: my apartments, every job i've ever had, people on the streets.
finding a quality guy that smells good and has a functioning brain not strung out on drugs or alcohol every week is hard to find..
What about us nonsmoker (ex) moderate drinkers who try to find women that don't smoke, take drugs, or get pissed regularly? Maybe it's where I live but they are few on the ground.
i was thinking of a few celebrities i have met over the years -.
neil diamond, matt damon, terry bradshaw, robert downey jr to name a few..
Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin
Maurice Gibb from the Bee Gees
Nearly ran into Madonna LOL(!) when she was power walking on my local beach. Does that count?
just as jesus predicted, his presence as heavenly king has been marked by dramatic world developmentswar, famine, earthquakes, pestilences.
(matthew 24:3-8; luke 21:11) such developments bear powerful testimony to the fact that 1914 indeed marked the birth of gods heavenly kingdom and the beginning of the last days of this present wicked system of things.2 timothy 3:1-5. this is lifted from the jw website article on 1914. it is not funny how they fooled so many of us.
i read this and went:.
I don't believe the bible is literal but in this case, Jesus was talking to a people that were under the iron boot of the Romans. Surely it would make sense that he was referring to the last days of Jerusalem and the temple which signified (their) god's presence, not some vague time thousands of years in the future.
Just a bit of watchtower cherry picking.
are you single and looking for a soul mate?
or do you consider yourself to be available?
please, declare on this thread..
Currently seeing a couple of women (yes they know about each other) but not in love in the classic sense, with either.
Yep looking but not too hard, as I love my freedom and current lifestyle.....
