Now afternoon here. Just had lunch with a lovely German woman who is doing her PHD. Spent three hrs talking and she's off to bikram yoga. You can guess where I'm at....

Would the Japanese have used a nuke on the Allied nations if it had the chance?? Too right!
I have seen the thousands of graves of Allied soldiers (POWS) in SE Asia who were systematically murdered by the Japanese. One of my relatives had his legs hacked off at the knees with a samurai sword because he was tall and stood over the commanding officer.
No apology

Dead Birds And Fish
by EmptyInside indoes anyone have any idea why birds are literally dropping dead from the sky in four or five states.
and even in sweden, hundreds of birds are dead.
and fish are turning up dead too,not only in the states, but also brazil and new zealand.. they're trying to say new year's eve fireworks frightened the birds to death.

I wonder why an ornithologist wasn't asked to comment, as they would have a greater understanding of (unusual) bird behaviour. Certainly many birds die in migration. The same with fish.

Writing Style of WTBTS
by Band on the Run inwitness literature has never had a nice flow to it.
a family member was a maoist and had these perfect english pamphlets prepared by a foreign government.
the grammar was perfect.

The only time I have ever read the verb happifying was in a wt. I guess that is their trademark..We're kinda quirky, we don't stand for accepted norms, we're original, we're the only source of truth, so we're different from every body else.
At one point I thought that was cool but now I see it as a C...U...L...T!!

At first I thought that U Tube clip was made via an acid trip, then realised the voice over was real, as in the language used every Sunday in a hall. Great to hear that the accents were Australian.
Some kid in the 80's was a great observer of the absolute insanity of this religion..Esp the bit with the mother taking the child out and thrashing it for making a noise.

Australian Convention Pioneer family Experience - We found our vegetables in the gutter..why do they wanna be Martyrs?
by Witness 007 ina couple years ago district convention - a pioneer family with two kids explained how they had ran out of funds and had no dinner...as they turned the corner out witnessing they saw a vegetable truck had spilled some produce in the gutter and so "jehovah provided in our time of need..." i felt like yelling get a job you bum stop starving!!
not encouraging.
this week an elder with pnemonia discharges himself from hospital, promising to remain home...so he can go out preaching!

I was gobsmacked when a district overseer didn't think a part I was doing sounded miraculous enough, so I was told to embelish the details. In other words, after that experience, I realised that those stories at meetings, conventions are (as above) myths, legends and outright lies.

The power and assertive years ( approx. 30 to 45 )
by caliber inmy personal observation is that these (30-45) years are the coming together of physical, emotional and mental power, a time when.
most reach the desire , confidence and need to speak out to speak out about all injustice they see around them.. my personal opinion is that after reaching this stage in life you mellow out in your 50's .
i make this claim by personal life experience.

On somes points I agree but I have found my voice in later life(I am nearly 55). I battle to keep my mouth shut at meetings etc, as my bulls+++t detecter has become sharper in my fifties. Physically, I am just as active as ever. Must have good genes.

I rarely comment on climate change posts due to the sheer emotions stirred and personal attacks between posters. What I will say is that Simon's comment, to me, made the most sense. Whether you are a believer or denier of climate change, surely we can all agree that the environment is being heavily affected by human over use of resources.
We are personally responsible for our use/abuse of resources. I am scepitical (in the true sense of the word) of current media mad scientists making outrageuos claims, but (over many years) I have made the move to growing a lot of my own vegetables, driving a diesel vehicle, massively cutting my coal fired power use, use solar hot water and have been involved in native revegetation for a number of years. This planet is very robust if given a chance. What do you do to lessen your affect on the environment?

The wt literature was the first to go, once my eyes were opened. I needed to purge all those lies that I swallowed for 20 yrs. Geez, I look back and realise that I actually had that rubbish in a prominent place in my lounge room, for all to see...Cringe
