It would be great if Bear Grylls died on Man Verses Wild.
That would be the only factual part of the show...
You guys get it in the States/Canada?

thought this was a good article to give hope to the "non-religious":.
what would carl jung make of 2011?http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-13645959.
carl gustav jung died 50 years ago today.
This spurred my passion to get back to my books...
R.F.C. Hull, Jung's translater was reluctantly shown the Red Book many years after Jung wrote it under the guidance of "Philemon." Hull said
He went through everything an insane person goes through...had it not been for his astounding capacity to stand off from those experiences, to observe and understand what was happening, he would have been overwhelmed by the psychotic material that came through the "dividing wall." His achievement lay in hammering that material into a system of psychotherapy that worked (Jung:Dierdre Bair 2004 Page 293).
i was just thinking about this the other day.
it seems that people, both non-jw's and believe jw's, have this sense of emptiness inside of them.. maybe its because of the technology?
or maybe its because people catch on to bullshit quicker then they did say, 30 plus years ago?.
Great comments (GC RIP)
For me, I reckon many people have an overwhelming sense of hopelessness, created by too much information. Possible death of the planet, or at least our current lifestyle. Death of religion and in fact personal belief patterns (as the 'net is jam packed with differing views) as a life guide. Strangely, when I was a kid, researchers were predicting a future of no (need for) work, complete leisure, no pollution, no war....What has the planet got?
On the other hand is a lack of appreciation. Myself, because of scientific breakthroughs, am completely healthy and feeling as active as a 30yr old at 55. Often, I sit and appreciate the life I have
Balance?

I agree mindseye
What I was commenting on was that "Jung channelled on a regular basis". From what I understand, Jung was in a psychotic state between 1914-18 and wrote via "Philemon". He, as a true "hero" fought through the darkness and came back completely sane. He used this experience as the basis of his further work but as far as I hnow "Philemon" wasn't contacted again...True?

LOL! scotoma
Would you mind writing where you got that information? I have read deeply on Jung and what you have said is a mish mash. Yes, he wanted to know what happened at a seance, his mother was a rural Swiss, who raised him with the belief and had the "ability" herself. He looked for deeper understanding, rather than saying it was "spirits". I have never read he was a channeler and I have read the definitive biographies. As far as his wealthy wife, he was already on the path to fame before he met her but yes, her wealth initially made his research easier due to not having to analyze patients for his living (even though he continued with patients right through).
I guess you reckon he was a nazi too? LOL!
Many people hated Jung with a literal vengeance, esp Freud's fanatics. Maybe your info source?
"Well what the hell is it that makes you all so scared ? Its like YOU are jews living in nazi germany, but you are not, you wont be gassed and put into ovens,"
"Do yourself a favour and bugger off and stop being offensive .."

well just what is samadhi?.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/samadhi.
I spent some time with a Baba in India. He truly lived in the state of samadhi. Interestingly, he had no dreadlocks, no beard, dressed as an ordinary Indian and never asked for special treatment. He had been a millionare gold trader but in late middle age gave all to his wife (once the children had grown) and at that time, had been walking for 25yrs without a thought for material goods. He had no concern for the past or the future, living completely in the now. He initially came across as any "normal" person but if I asked him a philosophical or spiritual question, he would look into my eyes and BAM I was taken to a state of timelessness and he would answer usually with an illustration. He actually scared me with his subdued power. but always finished with a laugh.
I am not a person who is keen to follow individuals but I certainly learned a lot from Yoshi Baba
i'd be so embarrassed if i had ever had anything to do with these crazies... wait, er, uh.... .
