The sheer arrogance of this organisation to belive that they have unique communications with god and the sheer arrogance to not admit error(s). Really, to believe that god told "us" special dates and no one else is kinda egocentric to say the least. Humility is not a shining quality in jwland.

Sorry FTS, work intervened. Yes I spend LOT of time in Indonesia so of course am fully aware of their religious beliefs. Just a small point but East Java is also Hindu and has some amazing temples.
You say
"Both South Asia Muslims and Hindus can be volatile people, and maybe from an anglo perspectivethey may seem to go over the top.Nonetheless, believe that if US pressure on the region was removed, things could change quickly."
I would dare to say when that very real conflict was hot, it was more than Anglos who saw it as over the top. As I said in my earlier comment, all consulates were demanding their citizens leave India (I certainly did and so were droves at Delhi airport). As I recall China was helping with negotiations as I'm sure they would not have wanted a nuke war on their border.

FTS have you been to India? Well I lived there for 6 months and it was the last time (2003 approx) that India and Pakistan nearly came to nuclear war. I was on the India/Pakistan border at one point. I saw the massive military build up, the fighter planes returning and the funerals held for dead Indian soldiers. All consulates were telling their people to get out NOW as nuc war was imminent. I asked people on the street about nuclear war and they were all for it as in their minds India had more nukes than Pakistan so they will blow the country away. Just no idea of mutual destruction. There is deep seated hatred and suspicion on both sides and as a person who saw it with my own eyes I cannot see a peaceful end to this ongoing and very real conflict.

Agree with Skygreen, avoid the Gold Coast. The actual nature reserve is the Border Ranges National Park (Not the Glasshouse mtns, they are North of Brisbane). Well worth a look. Also if you have a car, go down to Byron Bay. It will be a little crowded that time of year but the beaches (Broken Head Nature Reserve for example) are georgeous. There are numerous guesthouses outside the actual town if you want quiet as the town gets a million and a half tourists per year! Why do I know so much? Been living in this area for 40 yrs..

I spent my xmas with my children and grandchildren eating and drinking too much. Most of the adults ended up in the kids pool. New Years was an all night dance party on a farm...Bit sore and sorry at the moment but at least it didn't rain!

I just did a quick search and it seems the mouth piece for this particular group is the Western Shugdan Society. They appear to have unlimited funds to put to their cause of undermining the DL. Now this comment is not to say that the Chinese Gov is behind them, It's simply too difficult to get information but of course the supporters of the DL are stating this.

I was travelling down the Mekong river years ago and due to a nasty leak in our boat, we had to stop for the night in this strange little village. I walked into a guesthouse and there was a large beam supporting the roof which spand the whole building. Someone had tacked a a dried skin on it which had to have been 12 to 14 ft long and 2 ft wide (in places). I asked the attendent if it was some type of crocodile? No king cobra!

LOL Love your style and thanks for the explanation. I have an interest in Asia and certainly the awakening of the "sleeping dragon". I will take more time for your posts and input if possible.

I am no friend of the Dalai Lama, as I see him as the pope of Buddhism but hey are you being paid by the Chinese Gov to put this stuff out? I have heard that the CG is doing so, swamping blogs sites and forums with propaganda. Or are you doing your Phd?!
