God --- Artist or Engineer?

the hebrew verb commonly translated as 'created' in genesis 1:1 bears the meaning of 'to cut out', hinting at god being a sculptor.
in its endeavour to imitate scientific language, the intelligent design movement, on the other hand, wants us to believe that god is an engineer who consciously designed the entire universe.

Well, my hazy memory jw life recalls their little interest in black Australians. Kinda gloved fist racism. Since leaving the cult, I have worked with Aboriginal communities and made genuine friends. Their deep spirituality and understanding of the planet make the jws and christians in general look like babes lost in the Universe.

Geez I'm loving it!!
Nearly 52 and just so happy in my own skin. Just got back from OS and danced 'til dawn drinking with the juniors. I've got wisdom of age, a healthy body and mind and seem to mix with all ages. I don't smoke or do drugs, I love enquiring into new stuff but enjoy meditating on the past. My family are all well and at this moment, I can say life is (very) good. The best years of my life and getting BETTER!!

Bashir still spreading hatred of infidel Aussies
by barry ini opened up the newspaper today and found the islamic cleric abu bakar bashir is urging his followers to 'beat up' infidel tourists in indonesia.
he reffered to western tourists in bali as worms snakes and maggots,.
it seems bashir has been emboldened by his release from prison after the 2002 bali bombings that killed approx 200 people .. bashir talked of a previous visit to australia during the sermon he claimed he wanted to see the beauty of the ocean but was told by a friend there there was one condition of a visit to the beach in australia he said if you enter that area you must be completely naked.. im just so outraged by this islamic rubbish.

Men - Do You Know What Women Really Want in a Relationship ?
by flipper ini heard a woman being interviewed on a radio station this morning and thought this would be an interesting subject to discuss !
in the interview this woman stated that , " men many times only hug you or touch when they want to have sex .
if more men saw that holding hands in public, or the need to reach out to touch a woman affectionately outside of the bedroom , put your arm around her casually- without any expectations , more men would end up in the bedroom later with a woman who feels she has been loved throughout the day !

I can buy coca leaves from a local health shop in the form of a tea. Its a mild stimulant like coffee. There is a rumour that if you put some in your mouth with bicarb soda you get a bit of a hit.
Yeeuuw no thanks.
I bet the jw missionaries use medication when in higher altitudes to stop getting sick. That is what this amazing plant can do naturally. It's a shame that it gets concentrated into "Bolivian marching powder" ...cocaine

Who lets it be known that they were once a JW?
by lfcviking ini am curious, for those of us here who have left the jw org, who actually lets it be known to people that they were once a practicing jw.. for me, this is something i tend to keep quiet because it is something i'm not particularly proud of.

Being a jw is like being in a one act play over and over.
You put on a costume, put on a face, put on an attitude, then you go home to a semblance of normality.
Like actors in a play that goes for years,after a while the lines come out without thought. The mind separates. The gb cannot really control people any more than a director of a play.
Oh and those photos look like cheap clothes catalogue from the 50's. Store front dummies
