Kurt is a great real guy. Fun and adventurous. I met him when he came for a holiday in South Africa. We travelled around together and I'm still around to tell the tale.

I am confused by the "reserrection" doctrine. Who will be raised first Old testament people or people who die right before Armaggeddon?
by booker-t ini have always wondered who will be raised first people such as noah, job, enoch, etc; or people who die right before armaggeddon?
if noah, job, are raised first would not they be terrified with all of the modern inventions they will see such as cars, airplanes, clothes, watches, tvs, radios, and all of the modern technologies.
also, if people lived to 900 years back then would not methusalan be shocked if a person raised tells him they were only 20 years old when they died?

unicorns like rainbow glitter - duh - (couldn't resists)
The WT teachs that those who died most recently would be resurrected. If you die during armegeddon though, that is your judgement and you won't be raised up - if I'm not correct (I remember the example of Sodom and Gomorrah being given - it is a direct judgement from god and thus you done and dusted)

A newbie...
by Jaidubdub ini'm new here but have been lurking here for a couple of months.
i am 3rd gen born in but have been inactive for a few years but always had the intention to make another go of the truth, but not now that i know ttatt.
i became inactive due to the inhumane treatment from family members who are elders.

Hello there Jaidubdub - you are very welcome to this board. I am so happy that you had a squiz on the net and came across this site. Things do start to fall in place and make sense when you know TTATT.
Stand up for yourself as much as you can, if you can influence here and there go for it.
It really makes me so very happy when I hear that more and more people are waking up. Well done.

Got an interview
by LouBelle inas some of you know, i had no job last year, then finally got something in an industry that i know nothing about.
the environment and people haven't been the best, but i had to stick it out and hope that things would improve.
i have kept my eye and ears open for opportunities more in my field of expertise - which is print advertising.. i sent through my cv for a job i saw advertised in the newspaper for an advertising sales rep - applied and now i have an interview to go too tomorrow.. i've learnt not to get my hopes up - i am glad for the interview and i hope it goes well..

The interview went great. I was very excited as I'm very passionate about advertising and it's trends especially in print. Here in Africa print still has a very long life and digital compliments it. I know first world a lot of print is being replaced by digital, but I market is very behind.
So yes went well, I did ask them questions too, about the company and their working experience. They will short list the candidates for a second interview where we'll have to do a presentation.
When I left the one manager shook my hand and said "We'll be seeing you again" That was good.
Come what may - yes it gives me interviewing experience, which is good too. I try take positive from everything.

So, if friends or family ask you why you were researching JW history...
by leaving_quietly intoday's wt study (w13 2/15 p.12 par.
"we benefit from balanced consideration of the history of jehovah's organization, even as the people of israel benefited from reflecting on how god delivered them from egyptian bondage.".
and the last sentence in the same paragraph:.

They know that the greater % will NOT do the research - they will continue to eat from the rotting plate served up. They are quite happy to lose the few that do educate themselves.

Controversial essay- cull 20% of the poor.
by fulltimestudent ina controversial essay is part of aussie news today.. the essence of it is that the state needs to kill about 20% of the poorest in the community, to fix its financial problems.
it is, of course, claimed to be 'tongue-in-cheek,' but is there a sound basis to the concept?
i sound very right-wing in saying that, but i live opposite a boarding house that is full of people who, i guess, would be prime candidates for the cull.

you get the poor and then here in SA you get those that breed children to get more government grants to spend on themselves, their phones, their clothes and not a cent goes to the child. The child is then on the street begging.
you then get donors that send money to SA NPO's and the agents in the NPO's steal, defraud the monies - just had a client report they have a whole syndicate going on - sorry a bit off topic - but )(^&(*^^&%%*&^*^&*(^&*%&^%907
