The Watchtower did not teach about why to trust Bible. Did not teach me why I need to worship Yahweh. Did not teach me the reality of Jesus, -

What in these books tells you that god exists?
One particular book I am fond of is The Secret Melody- And Man Created the Universe. In this book he explains that our views of the universe have always changed (Kepler's universe, Newton's, Einstein's, etc.) He tries to demonstrate that complexity does not necessarily need a creator. However, he states that their is a persisting doubt. Any slight change in physics and we would not be. I guess, what I'm saying, is that so many of these cosmologists, act and talk like they were there at the big bang. Yet, in the end, another man made universe will be created such as Hawking. It boils down to this: "Where were you when I founded the earth? Tell me, if you think you understand."-Job 38:4

I must say that I have always loved Jehovah and His son Jesus Christ. I have a 12 inch diameter telescope. I would go outside and listen to the Psalms that praised to my God. Especially the Psalms that dealt with the creation. "The heavens are declaring the glory of God". Still gives me chills when I think of those words as I stare into the heart of Orion nebula. I would praise and thank him for all the wonderful things he has done for me. Jehovah and Jesus were everything to me, not the organization. In all the years, I have always gone far beyond the Watchtower, to study how we know if God exists. I have many astronomy and cosmology books that tell me that God does exist. I went way out the Watchtower to study if God is a trinity. I will never believe that. God's name? Again, I examined that way outside of the Watchtower. My question is only for those who feel like me. How are you dealing with discovering TTATT? Currently I feel divided because of the newness of the discovery. It is actually hard to focus on the Bible because of my particular situation. But deep down my soul craves that relationship with Jehovah and His Son. -

Bonsai. You say, "maybe this is the truth". I'm a newbie as well. Just discovered this was not the truth 4 months ago. I cried like a baby. What helped me? Read Crisis of Conscience. Could not put it down. But, a real clincher was In Search of Christian Freedom. Why? You discover that the most fundamental things like door to door work was being debated in the 70's. Wow! I thought that was settled in the book of Acts! House to house not the same as door to door. Counting time was and still is a big issue. I guess that book really opens your eyes to all the things that you knew were problems but couldn't pinpoint why. Encourage you to read it. Very tedious but worth every minute.

Why attack?
by newqatarjob inas someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.
i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

All of us are simply feeling a lot of pain. It may never go away. When I discovered TTATT 4 months ago, I cried. What can I compare it to? Imagine your parents always showing you love. They hugged and kissed you when you were growing up. They tucked you in at night. You remember all the good times with them. They provided for you. You always felt their love. You were secure. Then as you grew up, you found out that they loved you so much that they actually kidnapped you from your real parents, and killed them. Now you know the truth. But other family members are saying, you know they loved you, didn't you feel their love? Didn't they show affection? Talk about confusion. You and I have found the TTATT. Nothing good that happened in the organization will change the real truth.

Supernatural Tony......the 3rd
by snare&racket ini realised something today.... we all happily accepted something really ridiculous.....something that if worded how i will word it now, we would have rejected as ridiculous, but after a moments thought, would have to concede.. we once followed the governing body because we believed they had supernatural powers.
how ridiculous you may say, no we didn't!
of or relating to things that cannot be explained according to natural laws.

“The brother went down to get the mail before breakfast, and when we had breakfast he said, ‘Brother Riemer, I got a new Watchtower this morning, and do you know the first thing that Ma and I do when we get that Tower? We kneel down before we take the wrapper off and ask Jehovah to make us worthy to see what the message is that Jehovah has for us. Now, before we take the wrapper off, will you kneel down and pray with us?’ How different that elective elder was from this humble couple who appreciated Jehovah’s organization” (Watchtower, Sept. 15, 1964, p 574) -

I think some dont understand the expression True Believer. A true believer is one who studies day and night, takes his privileges very seriously, prays to Jehovah. He does support the organization, but in his mind, it IS about Jehovah. True, he reads the literature, but in his mind it is not about the Watchtower. The Bible is his real focus. I was one of them. Many of you here know for a fact, that you were sort of alone if this is how you felt. Years ago I had an elder friend of mine say that their are few people that he could have a deep discussion about Jehovah or Jesus as persons. These people are few. I know many elders, pioneers, and publishers, that will turn you in to the elders for anything. They talk about all the new light. They seem so involved. But you can't talk about Jehovah with them. They cheat at business, overdrinking, foul language etc. In my current congregation of 120, I would say about 50 are True Believers in the strict sense. We call this the "core". I believe that "core" is getting older and smaller. I am 45 . And in countries like the U.S., I believe my generation is a turning point. So many young people are not "reaching out", not pioneering, don't want to go to Bethel. The boe, which I served for years, it was obvious that only about 2 of 6 were true believers. As was already said, just because you are deeply involved, doesn't mean your believing everything. You are just so drunk with privileges, you can't think straight. In fact I just found out 2 of my friends are "apostates". No, they said they weren't. But I said they were. Simply because they disagreed on all issues such as blood, disfellowshipping , counting time, pioneering, you name it. I believe many are like this, but they feel you should still go through the motions and it is still Jehovahs organization. Oh, and they ARE NOT APOSTATES. But I need to correct how I feel...Yeah. Right.

That is a good point Magnum. 1995 seems like yesterday to me when the generation understanding changed. But in reality, it was a long time ago! It was my 1925! The newer ones may never know how "sure" we were. How many built their lives on it. That explains why new ones can come in and accept everything. -

All the changes
by vinman inare their any newer people here, who recently found out ttatt, who has been disturbed by all the new changes in the organization?
it is turning into something that feels impersonal.
i know change is good.

I am new to this forum and I only found out the TTATT 4 months ago. I must add, even my wife had the weirdest face when she watched the cart song. It is something you would never imagined would happen.
