  instead of, the overlapping generation teaching, they should have just ditched 1914. .

  bible says flood occurred approximately 4000 years ago.

  that is about *200 generations of breeding to get to the population on earth now.

  keep in mind that the population increase is geometric.

  all these endless posts now are about how wt entered into the 1914 morass, the Opening Post was about how how wt will wriggle out of the now expired 1914 end times trap.

  They can’t. Their stated authority structure is doctrinally tied to 1914 and 607. The closest possibility would involve a schism with a part of the movement that rejects 1914 fracturing off. But unless it happened from within the Watch Tower Society, not much would come if it.

  Jeremiah also foretold additionally, that the 70 years was of servitude it was also a period of Exile of 70 years during which Judah was desolated for 70 years.

  In addition to the response from MeanMrMustard above showing this to be a lie, Jeremiah 27:8-11 also clearly demonstrates that exile was considered a punishment for refusing to serve Babylon, not the way in which Babylon would be served for 70 years.

  if you are fair dinkum I can list scholars who sup[port 586 and the most recent to hand is Obed Lipschits who I have already referenced on this post.

  It hardly matters who ‘supports’ (parrots) Thiele’s dating of 586 BCE from the 1940s. (And his name is Oded.) But feel free to provide details of modern sources detailing why they believe 586 BCE rather than 587 BCE to be the correct year. 😂

  Of course, all scholars know that 607 BCE is entirely wrong and it doesn’t even get a look in.

  Rubbish. There has been no statement from the US Geological Survey or any similar organisation associating the earthquake in Turkey with any religious superstition, nor do they indicate 1914 having any bearing on the frequency or severity of earthquakes. It is typical of doomsday nutters to latch on to any natural disaster and claim it is significant to their nutbaggery.

  You keep making this trite assertion, because you like to make it appear as though there is ambiguity regarding the secular dating. But various sources simply repeat Thiele’s dating of 586 BCE from the 1940s before more information was available. The correct year is definitely 587 BCE. I note you never cite any modern sources that assess the date as 586 BCE rather than simply repeat that old traditional dating.
