The only value in ‘engaging’ with you about Jeremiah 25:11 is to show readers how laughable the JW interpretation is. I don’t need to defer to Jonsson’s work; while his work is valid, I have analysed the original sources myself and arrived at the correct interpretation independently.

🤦♂️ Entirely wrong. The ‘gentle times’ when Jerusalem was ‘trampled’ (corresponding to the ‘great tribulation’) was the 3.5 years (42 weeks, 1260 days) from 66-70CE. The grammar in Luke indicates a period that hadn’t started yet in Jesus’ time. Jesus’ presence was explicitly expected to happen after that. Poor wrong JWs. 😂

They can’t. Their stated authority structure is doctrinally tied to 1914 and 607. The closest possibility would involve a schism with a part of the movement that rejects 1914 fracturing off. But unless it happened from within the Watch Tower Society, not much would come if it.

In addition to the response from MeanMrMustard above showing this to be a lie, Jeremiah 27:8-11 also clearly demonstrates that exile was considered a punishment for refusing to serve Babylon, not the way in which Babylon would be served for 70 years.

It hardly matters who ‘supports’ (parrots) Thiele’s dating of 586 BCE from the 1940s. (And his name is Oded.) But feel free to provide details of modern sources detailing why they believe 586 BCE rather than 587 BCE to be the correct year. 😂
Of course, all scholars know that 607 BCE is entirely wrong and it doesn’t even get a look in.

There has been no statement from the US Geological Survey or any similar organisation associating the earthquake in Turkey with any religious superstition, nor do they indicate 1914 having any bearing on the frequency or severity of earthquakes. It is typical of doomsday nutters to latch on to any natural disaster and claim it is significant to their nutbaggery.
