It’s funny watching the cognitive dissonance of COVID conspiracists…
2% die after getting COVID: “they count unrelated deaths as COVID deaths!”
0.0008% die after a vaccination (including deaths not caused by the vaccine): “the vaccine kills people!”
for years everyone was told they had to get the flu shot.
because the flu was dangerous and it could even kill you.
now, hardly anyone talks about the flu or having a cold.

Anony Mous:
COVID is an airborne pathogen
The virus can be suspended in droplets in the air for a short amount of time but not in the sense you are attempting to convey, as if someone would need a completely isolated air supply.
This puts the vaccine side effects of death in the first 6 months of this year at 12,000
As with many of your intellectually dishonest posts, this is incorrect. VAERS reports adverse effects experienced after vaccination, not merely caused by vaccination. It includes deaths as a result of conditions unrelated to the vaccine. It’s still a staggeringly small percentage of total vaccination numbers, and it is not a valid representation of deaths caused by the vaccines.

FedUpJW:
How do you propose they breathe? Or are you saying they would have to have a completely self-contained air supply that was also isolated from any contamination from the air that surrounds the globe?
Come on, that’s not even a good straw man attack. COVID-19 isn’t an airborne virus in the manner implied.
It’s funny that certain people are so willing to accept an unverifiable anecdote about a self-assessment of diligent isolation.
The claim that ‘anyone with flu gets lumped in with COVID’ is obviously false because there are still flu statistics. Other posters have already provided information about why flu numbers were seasonally low, and the US is not currently in flu season.

If someone literally isolated themselves so that they had no contact with anyone potentially infected, it would be physically impossible to contract the virus, even if they weren’t vaccinated. So either you, or the anecdotes you’re alluding to, are lying. It remains the case that it is the stupid people flouting regulations who massively increase the vectors for spreading the virus far beyond what would be the case of occasional inadvertent breaches.

It’s fundamentally obvious that a virus transmitted by exposure to other people won’t be transmitted to people who aren’t near other people (or recently contaminated surfaces). It’s interesting that you feel the need to frame that as a ‘belief’. Isolation will indeed prevent people contracting viruses that are spread by exposure to other people, which also reduces the total number of vectors for infection in a given community, but aside from that, it is not the case that people are otherwise ‘prevented’ from getting the flu, though vaccination for the flu would go a long way to preventing flu symptoms, particularly if they’re unavoidably exposed to stupid people who flout regulations because they don’t understand how viruses or vaccines work.

minimus:
So if you take the jab and you socially distance, you really shouldn’t get the flu or possibly a cold.
A COVID vaccination won’t stop you getting the flu, which is why there is a separate flu vaccine, and neither would prevent you getting a cold. A person who is vaccinated for either condition may still be infected with the corresponding virus but would generally experience only very mild symptoms, if any. Vaccines don’t prevent a person being exposed to a virus, so it is asinine to expect that a vaccinated person can’t be infected at all.
But obviously if someone is isolated from other people, they won’t get any virus that is contracted by exposure to other people.

A virus that is more infectious than the regular flu is transmitted more than the regular flu, and measures intended to reduce spread of the more infectious virus also help reduce infection of the other virus. Yeah… amazing. 🙄

Flu vaccines have been available in Australia this year (and last year) independently of the COVID vaccines and messaging about recommending those vaccines has been the same as in other years, though probably overshadowed by increased focus on COVID.
The claim that ‘flu would be identified as COVID’ is a lie, and health departments provide specific differences in the type, onset and intensity of symptoms for either COVID or Influenza.
There has been a reduction in flu cases as a result of ‘social distancing’ due to COVID measures.

the main point was nobody is able to figure out motive for persecution.
Russia's crackdown on Jehovah's Witnesses is intended as a message that small ostensibly American religious sects that try to recruit others will not be tolerated in their country. So while it's heavy-handed and counterproductive, it is hardly the case that 'no one knows why'.
In addition to Russia's dislike of American sects, and the fact that JWs inherently will not endorse Russia's government, it is not entirely surprising that any government might perceive some JW views as 'extremist':
