Already answered. But basically, it's not currently flu season in the US, and last flu season, there were still hundreds of cases of flu reported per month, despite distancing measures in place due to COVID. Flu vaccines are also available (maybe not yet in the US until the flu season starts, but they were readily available in Australia from March onwards), independent of the COVID vaccine. If measures are in place to reduce the spread of a more infectious virus, it is to be expected that you would also see fewer cases of a less infectious virus spread by similar means.

On reviewing the VAERS website, this should say they are not the only ones who report. It remains the case that anyone can report to VAERS. Also, it is not mandatory to provide names, addresses, practitioner details, or proof of death or other condition on the form, so it is completely open to false reporting, for example, if someone has a political agenda or conspiracy theory.

Yeah. Of course they did. 🤦‍♂️ It suddenly spiked just in time for you to see the increase and then suddenly went back down to around where it was. I don’t suppose you took a screenshot? Or maybe an article citing the change?

And I assume you have evidence that it was ‘the Biden admin’ and not just staff at the CDC who ‘changed’ the figures.

And of course we can completely discount the notion of you just using wrong search criteria. Perish the thought.

Medical professionals investigate the reactions reported in VAERS, but they aren’t the ones who report the reactions to VAERS (except possibly in their capacity as regular citizens), nor do they leap to the assumption that every reported effect is caused by a vaccine (but also refer to previous post about how vaccines work.) Anyone can report reactions to VAERS (and about 1600 of the reported deaths don’t specify a state).

They have already paused the J&J vaccine due to confirmed fatalities and many countries are now stopping administration or considering stopping it due to the risk. Do you believe that the medical professionals were wrong? Why don’t you believe the scientists? Do you think we should administer vaccines to people even when the chance of death is higher from vaccination than receiving covid?

Different vaccines introduce different components of a virus, and the immune system reacts to those components (or in the case of mRNA vaccines, an element that allows RNA in cells to construct a similar protein, with the same result), and then recognise those in the actual virus if infected later. Vaccines that contain elements that cause severe reactions in a significant number of people should indeed be discontinued. But (aside from allergies to the vaccine medium) they are still effects that would also be experienced if the people got COVID. It’s not a matter of the professionals being wrong, it is a matter of identifying viral markers that are sufficiently similar for the immune system to recognise the actual virus, but without a severe reaction. Some companies inadvertently used elements that cause severe reactions in a small proportion of people. I’d like to see your attempt at making a vaccine. I suppose we could do it your way and have no vaccines at all, and just let millions of people die instead.

Wrong. Anyone can submit reports to VAERS, and the website very clearly states that. It’s also very unlikely it had an exact round figure of 12000 (that only you saw). And VAERS explicitly says its data is not indicative of effects caused by vaccines; rather, it contains effects that were reported after vaccination. It’s very difficult to believe anything you say about the VAERS database. (The only place I could find mention of 12000 deaths with reference to VAERS was a conspiracy nutter YouTube video,) But even if none of that were true, it still would not be ‘intellectually dishonest’ of me to not just accept your unfounded assertion that they secretly changed the data.

yep, i never heard him use profanity------ever.. a couple of us were invited to lunch, which in my case never happened before covid because i never got baptized.. but now i’m being invited by most of my jw family to family cookouts.

Yes, I’d be interested to see where he’s getting his made up data too. The current VAERS data as of now says 6127 deaths following a COVID vaccine (plus 1 death of pet). And obviously VAERS doesn’t say anywhere that all of those deaths were caused by vaccines, since the site clearly says over and over that the records do not indicate cause.

a. there is no covid19 virus?.

b. covid19 is real but not a threat of any kind?.

VAERS says that as of 19 July 2021, 6027 people have died following a COVID vaccine. The VAERS site states that “It is generally not possible to find out from VAERS data if a vaccine caused the adverse event” and the CDC says “Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem.” Now, I suppose you can say that they can’t be trusted, but then there’s no point citing data from VAERS anyway.

The John Hopkins covid risk calculator says I have a 0.8 in a million chance of dying from the virus. The vaccine adverse effects database currently says 10,000 have died from the vaccine. If 2/3 of the country has the shots, and there are 330 million people in the country, then that works out to 45 deaths per million. So I would be an idiot to get the shot.

As far as statistical comparisons goes, this is gibberish. First, an assessment of individual risk factors can’t validly be compared with a simple proportion across the entire vaccinated population. Second, VAERS indicates deaths that occurred after vaccination, not ‘caused by the vaccine’ (post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy). Third, about 162 million people in the US have been fully vaccinated giving a mortality rate of about 0.0062% (if we grant the false claim that 10,000 deaths after the vaccine are all caused by the vaccine), so it’s not clear where you’re getting ‘2/3 of 330 million’ or ‘45 deaths per million’ from, and the proportion doesn’t change as the number of people vaccinated increases (absent other demographic changes). Fourth, the majority of the 0.0062% are those in high-risk groups, which you have indicated that you are not in. Fifth, the people in the high-risk groups for the vaccine (excluding allergies to the medium) are at even higher risk of dying from the virus. Sixth, only the most at-risk people getting vaccinated would not establish ‘herd immunity’.
