Scholar and Fisherman
by Jorden inscholar and fisherman, i started this thread because i didn't want to highjack the one in regard to 588/568.. i just wanted to ask if you were both current active jw's that believe the jw's beliefs?.
do y'all believe the gb are the f&ds?
if the answers are no, then why do y'all defend so passionately the date 607?

Fisherman:
Therefore only God can produce a miracle
In addition to the fact that your premises donât support your conclusion that only God can perform miracles, I should have added that your premises also donât support the conclusion that God can perform miracles, or that supernatural entities can necessarily perform miracles, or that performing miracles is possible.
Also, the assertion that supernatural entities exist at all is unverifiable, and the term has no meaningful definition.
You might as well say something like:
Invisible goblins are supernatural and undetectable. Invisible goblins like Fishermanâs socks. Therefore if Fisherman canât find his socks, invisible goblins took them.

Just read that Carl Olof Jonsson died yesterday
by slimboyfat infor newbies, who was carl olof jonsson?
he was a jw in sweden who was challenged by a householder in the 1960s, who pointed out to him that secular history books donât agree with watchtower that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce, but instead place the event 20 years later.
the reason the date is important is because it is the starting date for jw chronology which leads to 1914 as the end of the gentile times, and the beginning of the last days, as jws understand it.

đ¤Śââď¸ But you still accept irrational nonsense (see also âsunk cost fallacyâ and âappeal to emotionâ). Thatâs worse than believing nonsense simply due to being uninformed.

Fisherman:
God is supernatural and outside the universe not physical. Proof is something empirical. Therefore only God can produce a miracle and God cannot be proven by science or by a person.
I think I see why you donât very often try to construct logical syllogisms. đ¤Śââď¸ Your first premise is rejected as unfalsifiable, and your argument is circular because your first premise assumes your conclusion. As to your second premise, it is invalidated by the fact that you attempted a logical proof, which if based on a properly formed syllogism with accepted premises would be proof without empirical evidence. Additionally, the part of your claim that only god can produce a miracle is not supported by your premises. Logically, your argument is rejected. Do try something convincing next time.

Fisherman:
The sort of convincing evidence that you seek can only come directly from God.
Fallacy: begging the question.

'scholar':
How would know as you are not a JW
I know that former JWs have expressed gratitude for information I and others have provided. You seem to lack the basic understanding that not everyone thinks the way you do.

Fisherman:
Yes there is.
Hmmm... compelling stuff. đ¤Śââď¸ Seeing as you've never presented any evidence of anything (despite constantly demanding proof from others), I won't hold my breath.
Doesnât apply to you being a secular analyst
So who exactly do you imagine it does apply to? People who hold different superstitious beliefs? Why would they care that JWs think JWs are 'fulfilling' JWs' own interpretations of 'prophecies', let alone be 'jealous'? Back in reality, they're holding you in just as much derision as those of us who don't need religious superstitions.

Fisherman:
To the sad jealousy of others, the JW are fulfilling Bible prophecy. Take for example âHow else will the scriptures be fulfilled when Jesus deliberately fulfilled prophecy.â Oh, the remarkable grasp and understanding of scripture by JW!
Just like every other nutty denomination believes their own nutty interpretations are 'fulfilling prophecy'.
There's no evidence Jesus ever 'fulfilled' any 'prophecies'. What we do know is that the writers who made up details about Jesus' life decades after his death had access to the Old Testament. Such a 'mystery' how they could have come up with 'fulfilments'. đ¤Śââď¸
If you think anyone's 'jealous', you really are delusional.

âscholarâ:
Everything is a fantasy to you so why are you here expending much energy in trying to refute or disprove WT doctrine and theology?
Just because youâre irretrievably deluded by fantasies, it doesnât mean all JWs are.

JWâs entire purpose is supposed to be to provide convincing proof of their beliefs in order to save people from their angry deity. You (and Fisherman) have not provided any evidence for your beliefs at all, which according to JW doctrine makes you bloodguilty. So itâs not me you should be feeling sorry for. Luckily for you, itâs just a fantasy.
