  i'm a terrible house keeper.

  i'll get a hair up my butt every few weeks, but other than that, not much gets done.

  matt does most of it.

  I don't clean my car enough. Everytime I get in it I think "Geez, clean this thing!", then I still don't do it.
  It's all dust. I live in the desert so everything is dusty all the time. I hate dust but I've almost given up.

  I'm dating someone younger than me (16 years) but she's been married and has two kids. I couldn't really imagine dating someone just out of high school (or younger).
  My interests match up alot better with someone her age than someone my age. Maybe I'm immature (I am) but we do well together.
  But I couldn't imagine getting involved with someone just out of high school or even younger. I don't think it would be fair to someone that age to expect her to get involved with someone so much older.

  Isn't the part: "At Los Angeles not long ago," part of the quote from the book dated 1913? The way I read it, it's saying "not long ago" from DA Hayes viewpoint in 1913, not from the date the WT was published.
  Or did I misread that?

  Did you ever witness someone being escorted out of the KH?

  did it ever happen in your congregation that a person was asked to leave?.

  i remember about 10 years ago, an elder was giving the sunday talk, and a woman that i never saw before was seated in the front.

  she was all alone, and right in the middle of the brothers talk, she raised her hand and started asking questions to the brother about what he just said.

  I was always so embarrassed when they did that to people in need."---
  That would happen at the cong I went to in Kentucky. But the brothers would drive the person to the Salvation Army. I thought that was really strange, I thought "we" weren't supposed to be involved with other religious orgs, but that's what they did.
  Actually, I think it was a reasonably nice thing to do, just was very surprised that they did that.

  Hope you have fun the rest of the summer.
  I've driven through Texas alot. Twice had major car trouble in other people's cars (delivering them to N.Y.) and I never had so many people (small repair shops) be so helpful. Even had a 7-11 clerk call her husband at 11:00 at night and he took me to a junk yard and we pulled a water pump from an engine for me.
  Good experiences in Texas for me.

  1. Encouraged -- Nope, I don't think I ever felt encouraged by them.
  2. Challenged -- I found it unrealistic so never felt like I'd do stuff like they described.
  3. Guilty -- I remember a few times feeling like everyone else was doing what they were supposed to but me. So yeah, maybe guilty a few times.
  4. Inferior -- No, I don't think I ever felt that way.
  5. "Oh no, here we go again!" -- THAT'S IT! I didn't mind the experiences parts because I didn't have to look like I was looking up scriptures, I could just sit there and stare at the stage and daydream.
  6. "Sounds good but I know how it really was." -- Yeah, when you know the people involved it really shows how staged it was.
  7. "Did they really say that?" -- Usually when some eccentric person was relating an experience I would think that. And of course how Jehovah blessed them in all these strange ways. Made me feel...
  8. Embarrassed -- yeah, that's how it made me feel, embarrased when I heard some of the stuff.
  9. Try hards! -- Not me! I always tend to do things my own way. Not a good way to be if you want to be a JW.

  Back To School--School Uniforms, Good or Bad?

  we just got back from texas'.

  they had their annual tax free weekend.

  with hotel, gas, food, and shopping, we spent $1000.00 easy.

  I didn't know that. I spent alot of time in the late '90's working in Kawasaki and going back and forth from Tachikawa and I saw everyday lots of girls get on the train in the afternoon dressed that way.
  Was is the area I was in, or has it changed alot since the late '90's?
  On a side note, I found it cute the way they said "Bye bye" to eachother as each left the train.

  Confrontation times 2, My lovely weekend ahead. Any thoughts .......

  well, my life is about to change over the next week, the anxiety is running high, and the adrenaline is going full blast, i hope i make it .... just a reminder of what has happened ... last summer my wife went to ontario and stayed with her sister, at the time me and her were not doing to well, and while she was there she screwed around on me, and her sister laughed about it.

  it's been 11 months, i've did the counselling, and i've tried to forgive her, but i'll tell you all something ...... "it just eats at you everyday, no matter how hard you try.".

  so i arrive on saturday, and day 1 will be taking care of this guy, i just hope i don't k--l him and spend the rest of my life in jail.

  My wife cheated on me and I knew the guy. I know too that he was scared to death what I was going to do to him. But instead of beating him to a pulp, I've done nothing other than be perfectly friendly with him. I know it confuses him and even after 2 1/2 years he still has no idea how to take me.
  I think he and she seeing me doing well, have a much nicer lifestyle than they do, and moving on and dating and having a good time, have had a much bigger impact than if I had lost my temper on him.
  By hitting him you might just be "proving" to them that you are exactly what she's probably saying about you anyway. But taking the high road will give people so much less to say about you in a negative way. Plus, jail isn't going to help your life one bit.
  I hope you can move on as quickly as possible and spend your time thinking about a new girl and new good times and a new future for yourself, because it's all possible if you let it.

  You're probably right that it could really be the mind associating things and ignoring the pieces that don't fit.
  I'm more open minded than I used to be that there "could" be something more than that to things, but still don't just ignore the logical explanations, as you point out.

  My business partner throws a fit now and then and stomps off. He can't take much. Once he did that and slammed his office door and the clock above it fell off the wall and smashed on the floor in front of everyone.
  Later he's back in the shop and asks why nobody's cleaned it up and they told him "Well, you broke it!". That just pissed him off more.
  I really try to keep him away from the employees. They can't stand him.
