I grew up hearing "New World Order" all the time from WTS. I agree with Herelam60 that they may have stepped away from it due to it's other uses by "The World".

by blondie inthe wts has used to above terms, over the years, some more preferred in certain time periods.

Is jehovahs-witness.com legitimately and reliably independent of WTB&TS and peripheral, aligned entities?
by great-trivialization ini am new to this forum and uncertain that this is legitimately and entirely independent of conniving jw controllers or the wtb&ts and its related entities.
markers like the use of jw.org in the forum description and the policies seem controlled/controlling vs other xjw forums.
this is not an accusation, it is an attempt to know enough to be comfortable with motives of the ownership and controllers of the forum.

They mentioned men watching pornography, but remember. The wives need to do their part in keeping in shape and showing it.
I had hoped to escape this attitude when I left Twitter. Why does a wife have a responsibility to be hot?

Oh, ic. I misunderstood becoming an ex-ex-JW to mean returning :)
Moving on from the ex-JW community is that suits you is a good thing. Letting having been a JW in the past become just that, something from your past, is great. No reason you can't stop by now and then, but it's no longer something you need to expend brain power on each day.
I left maybe 19 years ago, and have spent the last quite a few years now never even really thinking about it (JWs). When I do, it's just, "Oh yeah, I was once a JW". Sometime I taunt my wife (in fun) who is also an ex-JW, to "hurry and get ready, it's meeting night." I get a nice mean face from it :)

JWs in the news: "‘I Slay and Pray’- Jehovah’s Witness Serena Williams Reflects on Her Faith With Daughter Olympia in a Candid Confession"
by Balaamsass2 in"i slay and pray" :).
serena williams knows how to own a red carpet.
the 23-time grand slam champion turned heads at the vanity fair oscars afterparty, dazzling in a midnight-black, off-shoulder gown.

So she played and had a good time in her life and not it's time to make sure that her kids get started young with all the restrictions of a JW that she did not have before getting baptized.
How selfish and selfserving.

It's a good time to be where you do not feel the need for the JWs or the ExJWs. Just be yourself.
To be an ExJW does not require "meetings" with other ExJWs :), just spend time with whomever you wish. My view is to congratulate you for getting where you are. Just be you!

Telling People You Used To Be A JW
by JW_Rogue insince i faded i've told a few people at work about having been raised in this organization but i found that most people don't really get what it is like at all.
they just focus on not celebrating holidays as if that is the worst thing about growing up jw.
i didn't explain much because it's too much for most people to handle.

As KerryKing says I also say I was raised in a cult. Some time last year I told a nurse this, and added, "We weren't drinking kool-aid or anything :)" and she replied, "You were drinking kool-aid, just not "THE kool-aid," which I found humorous.

Not sure what to do - Not "in" and not "out"
by Alexia inlong story short: forgive my grammar, im in a hurry!.
i grew up as a jw by my mother who was baptized about two years before i was born.
my dad studied but was a severe (really severe) alcoholic and my older brother studied but was never really into it.

Sorry to hear alot of what has happened, but it sounds like you're with a good guy now, which is great! May family is mostly in, but I just stopped going to meetings about 5 years ago. No need to disassociate myself, I've not been disfellowshipped, I just quit. After a while, you're family figures it out and can be pushy, but my thought is that people need to do what's best for themselves, as long as you're not hurting anyone. I don't consider making your own spiritual decisions as hurting someone else, no matter how much they try to make you feel that way. At some point family will start saying "Why are you doing something that means I can't spend time with you?" Remember that it is NOT YOU doing this, it is them. It's hard, but you have a life to live and a right to live it. Note: I'd put paragraph breaks in but they don't show up. Sorry about that.
