hi folks.

some of the posts i saw here today put me in mind to ask this question.

it seems like jws more than most would be or could soon be dependent upon some form of government largesse (medicaid, social security, welfare, food stamps....) far beyond their own contribution to the till, as it were.

The point is Big is that the USA is changing along with Canada and Mexico and the people coming here do not have to adapt to American citizenship. You will have to adapt to having other nationals working in this country. That is what the Government tried to do with the Z Visa, but racists white people whined and cried about it and white republicans blocked the bill from becoming law. Don't worry the millions of illegal immigrants are not going any where and the USA economy needs them.

I'm sorry but your a sickening apologist. I wonder if that is what Cesar told the good people of the Republic right before it nose dived into oblivion.

jw relative watched history channel show on aztecs.

aztecs predict world will end in 2012.. my question is, "if the aztecs had the truth, shouldn't we be playing violent organized sports and sacrificing virgins?".

anyway..... please help me with a reply to my overzealous jw relative who badly wants the end of the world...or to prove to me that it's near so i get my tail back to the kh.. skeeter.

I thought it was the Mayans, but this whole thing is bogus. One, it presumes that they knew something more than we did. and two, the Mayan calendar doesn't "run out" in 2012, it starts over. It's a bit like saying the end of the world will come on December 31 because that's when the calendar ends.

No, it does not start over. The long count is the end and mysteriously the Mayans do not show any thing after this.

Sure keep telling yourself that. Those people had NO concept of a wheel yet they were able to move 20 ton, plus, rocks. The Mayan long count is around 26 thousand years. Even with todays technology and algorithims it was still a big task to show the galatic long count. So how did these "jungle natives" figure that out, going 22 thousand years into the past and then forseeing 4 thousand more into the future? They do not believe it is the end, but they did believe that the gods where coming back.

Also the prophecy for Quetzalcoatl was that he would return in the year of Ce Acatl. Very coincidental that Cortez happened to show up in the same year and day as this gods return.

Also the pyramid rock gaps are 1/200th of an inch, and the corners are PERFECT by an laser transit standard. Yea, tribal primates with no technology were able to accomplish that feat...

That's one I hate to agree with the dubs on. WW1 was a more ground shaking war on the grounds of how many century long monarch's collasped over night. There is one problem though it didn't start armageddon. Which according to Russel's original idea it was supposed to do. That also it started way to late in the year and really didn't get going good till 1915.

Well, a number of monarchies changed to republics. People were sick and tired of monarchs deciding to step in war. A large number of countries had revolts to deal with, allthough Russia is the only country to have an actual revolt (next to ALbania) In short. Germany - were bankrupted by the treaty of Versailles and changed from monarchy to republic. the Kaiser fled to Holland. Russia - already during the war, the romanov's were abducted. The country fell into a civil war which led to the communist regime in 1920. America - changed from protective to very protective, claiming they all left Europe previously and not wanted to be involved in any kind of war again. England - the monarchy came under pressure. It barely survived, but the monarch had to live according to the constitution (they weren't an absolute monarchy for some time though. Austria- the Donau monarchy was split in Hungary and Austria, leaving Austria minimalized. Changed into republic. Poland - got back the city of Danzig (Gdansk) from Germany. Ottoman empire - was split up. End of story. Don't know more details.
These are a few countries. Overall, it helped to emancipate the working class. On the political front a large number of socialist parties were organized throughout Europe.

DO YOU THINK THERE'S A CURE FOR CANCER?

do you think the scientists, doctors and pharmeceutical companies know of a cure for cancer that they're not telling us?

when you consider the leaps and bounds in medical discoveries that we've made in the last 50 years, it seems incredible that they're still using chemotherapy and radiation as the treatment for cancer.. while i was one of the lucky one who has survived cancer (so far), it's always in the back of my mind that it could return.

we all have friends who died before their time because of this rotten disease, yet the only progress that seems to have been made is that they can now 'detect' it earlier, which of course gives you a much greater chance of survival.. there have been stories of people who have been cured through alternative medicine, yet no one in the medical field seems to be interested in anything other than chemo or radiation.

Why, why can't a girl start the lawn Mower?

ok, my husband is in bed, there is just enough light to mow the lawn.

the gas tank has just been refilled, and there is fresh oil.damn it, i have primed it as required, and have pulled and pulled and pulled the stupid string.. why cant the damn thing start with out a guy???

my husband is now asleep and the damn lawn is 5 inches tall.. god help me!!!!!!!!!.

To me its a money scheme. Now instead of being stuck with a non placeable witchtower, which you can use at the Sunday meeting, you'll have to buy extras for yourself and your family which cannot be placed later on as an old copy. I wonder how they are going to handle the CD's in 2008? Will they merge the public/private articles? Plus I would think they would be able to get more of a strangle hold on how many you order. The literature brothers will no doubt be questioning how many private copies you need. "Oh, you said you wanted 5 craptowers, but we can only approve 3 since your family only has 3 believers".

If you haven't started it in a while gas will varnish in the carb and plug the jets. Or you yanked on the cord, and gas line so much you flooded it.

mrs. flipper and i got married last october, but before that one month before,my 18 year old daughter, her mom, my ex from 1998 and her husband came incognito one sat.

If they question why you sent the letter I would explain to them that you were so frustrated, that no one was listening to you that you wigged out. Tell them that you were cut to the HEART that no one would hear your pleas, and that it was obvious that your ex lied. Tell them you prayed constantly about it and you believe that the Holy Spirit directed them to do the right thing. However, I WOULD PURSUE YOUR EX!!! Tell the brothers, "How can I come back with any face and credibility when my ex has slandered my GOOD name?" (Have your head down when you do this). Then say that you hope the congregational Holy Spirit will not be affected by such callous deeds. I WOULD RUB THE SALT IN YOUR EX'S EYES LIKE NO TOMORROW. Most people do not learn and your ex may continue to pursue you out of jealousy. I would insure that that does not happen - and put her in her place. That way if she tries that shit again in the future you just call of the PO and say why is she being a busy body and not minding her own business?
