I would find out more about his recent removal. If it looks like he did then I would notify the local PD. At the very least they will send someone over to ask questions. I would have someone talk to Bob and get him to file a complaint against the elder, and involve law enforcement. Better to be safe and sorry than to have a possible pedo harm innocent children.

Here is what I have seen:
Story 1:
Local elder 1 (current ex-elder) borrowed money from elderly elder 2 who is wealthy to start up a business. Well, elder 1's business fails within a few months and tells elder 2 that since his business failed he did not need to pay him back. Well elder 1 was eventually removed. Elder 2 dies a few months later. The body of elders tells elder 1 that he will never be used as an elder again unless he A) pays the widow the money that was owed to her husband, or B) elder 2's widow dies. So if and when she dies he is appearently free from owing this family, though elder 2 had several daughters and sons. BS if you ask me.
Story 2:
New congregation (1) is being built in a nearby town. The brothers there cannot qualify for a loan, though several of the elders are VERY wealthy. So they ask another cong (2) to lend them money as a down on the propert. The other cong (2) loans them 50k and there is a stipulation that the new cong (1) will pay them back within a few months. Well, cong (2) asks cong (1) when are they getting there money back as they need it for a renovation. Cong (1) tells cong (2) to pound sand, and that they will not be paying them back. Cong (1) contacts the WTS and the WTS says we will not get involved but if you would like we will loan you the money you lost at 3% interest (supposed admin fee).
Story 3:
My brother in law owns his own business and used to higher witnesses. Paid them a VERY good wage but eventually stopped higher witnesses as the witness would show up late, not do any work, complain that they were not making enough, and on and on. He also used to get contracts from witnesses to do work. MANY, times he said they would not pay him, or pay him less saying his work was shoddy. He wised up and went to the Worldy contractors and never had another problem.
Story 4:
My brother in law did some work for the cong PO. The deal was (cong PO had a computer job with IBM) that he would so the work on the PO house for free, the PO only had to buy the material (we are talking at least 2-3K in labor). The deal was that the PO would build my brother in law a new computer and my brother in law would only have to buy parts. Well a month or so later my borther in law speaks with the PO saying his system finally crapped out and he would like a new one. The PO said that he had received a memo from IBM saying he was not allowed to do ANY outside work, even for family or friends. Needless to say, I helped him out.
Funny how the witnesses love to USE people and then when they are done they discard them like a used condom...

Judgement or what
by encourager incan anyone give some insight - i've been doing a bible study at my home with two friends and we were looking at the resurrection and judgement.
i was told that people who have already died will not be raised for judgement as they have already been judged and thats the end of it... but we then read the gospels and found jesus saying that at the judgement it would be more bearable for the people of sodom than those from the towns which rejected jesus's ministry.
one of my friends is an elder at my local kingdom hall and he's confused as well.

The book of Enoch describes an interesting judgement and the keeping of peoples spirits until that day.

Is It That Big Of A Deal To Die At Armageddon???
by minimus inwe're all gonna go someday.
for witnesses, they don't even have to worry about eternal hell----so what's the big deal?
-
sinis
Yes, but even when the kingdom is established won't we still continue to die during that "thousand" year period? Death is not done away with until AFTER the second "test". So really if Gods kingdom comes tomorrow won't we still die until after Satan is destroyed?

Re: The "United In Worship" and "Worship The True God" books...
by sf inin a search i am doing on some related issues to the tort essay, i came across something i am hoping others may be able to either confirm and/ or shed 'light' on.. i am only going to paste the text:.
the "united in worship" book was studied before baptizm...it had a very harsh chapter on not taking blood even if you have to die...the new version has deleted that whole chapter!!!
the book "worship the true god" 2002 is the same except for this.

With our whole heart we believe that faithful servants of God—even those who die—will be rewarded with eternal life.—John 11:25; 1 Tim. 4:10.
Wow, sounds like the mantra of a body bomber.

Does the average JW feel the "end is near"?
by Bumble Bee inmy hubby recently had a discussion with his older brother.
my brother in law told him he wants to reach out to become a ms. he's going to cut down on his work schedule, go out in service more, spend more time with his son etc.
he's in his mid forties, has always been regular at meetings and fs, but never aspired to reach out before.

My hubby recently had a discussion with his older brother. He told him he wants to reach out to become a MS. He's going to cut down on his work schedule, go out in service more, spend more time with his son etc. He's in his mid forties, has always been regular at meetings and FS, but never aspired to reach out before. I asked why now? He says the time left is short that this world is going to end soon and he feels this is what he should be doing.
He has a pretty good idea about our inactivity. He questioned my hubby about this abit too. We are the guardians of his son if anything should ever happen to them, and wanted to know if we'd "take care of ****" I asked hubby what he meant by that - he said would we raise **** "in the truth?"
I never thought of that before! I have to come up with a good answer to that one. Any suggestions?
The Laws of Probability say that if you roll the dice long enough your bound to get Snake Eyes. So yes, you cry "the end is near" long enough it will eventually happen. The trick is finding out when. Today, tomorrow, next year, 50 years, 100 years, etc. However, such statements as you mentioned only reinforce that the WTS is grasping at straws. How can preaching, taking a vow of poverty (cutting work down) possibly benefit you in the eyes of God? Such things are based on works and NOT TRUE FAITH. If they had TRUE FAITH then they would not be concerned with such things.
Personally, I believe this world is sinking more into the grips of a massive dictatorship. Perhaps the $hit will eventually hit the fan, but I look around and see governments doing whatever is necessary to survive economic turmoil. My motto, is live life, be happy, keep God in your mind and heart, apply the golden rule, and when and if that day comes you will have no regrets.

Medical Marijauna info needed please.
by damselfly ini am looking for information on the different ways that medical marijuana may be administered.
i have a client that received a information packet from the hospital that stated he could make a poultice from the herb and apply it to the painful areas, however that was all the info they had.
they are very interested in trying this approach.

Use a poltice with ethyl alcohol and DMSO - apply to skin, it will absorb into the skin (I would let the concotion sit for awhile before applying).

Watchtower Properties Website
by Apostanator ini was wondering if there is a website available that lists all of the properties the watchtower owns, as well as the current value of those properties?
if not, what would it take to establish one?
i think people would be very interested in what the watchtower holds as property or as businesses.

Can someone set up a Excel sheet that has a list of countries and cities that members can add to? That way a person in new york can post what properties they found in there local and someone else can post what they found elsewhere. Usually searching assessor websites show who has given property to the WTS or what properties they currently own. I think if someone did it by country and city and made it alphabetic then it would be easy to keep track of it. Perhaps have a column for sale or purchase price, current value, etc. and have a current running total built in so that at a glance a person can see what there assest total is worth. Just an idea.

Division between soul and spirit
by M.J. inhebrews 4:12
for the word of god is living and active.
sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Why does the book of Enoch allude to dead spirits being "housed" in heaven until the day of judgment where the spirit is judged. Other books I have been reading (letters not included into the NT) also refer to the body being a shell and the spirit being the part that is judged. Finally, why would Jesus give an illustration of the rich man and lazarus that would be heresy in the minds of his jewish listeners. If the common jew did not believe such things they would not have taken the time to listem to him but rather felt his was pushing pagan philosophy.
