  The bible, seriously?

  so i've been reading the bible, (for the fist time ever and i was a born in) i stopped going iilike 3 years ago and i wanted to have a good understanding of the bible and not just the wt.

  but holy crap that's some 18rated stuff!

  i mean i'm still in genesis and it's all vengeance this, condemn that and genocide everything else!

  the teenagers.. via my teens i hear of plenty of baptized teens who are waaaaaaayyyyyyy left of centre.. alcohol, sex, and parties are going to claim a lot more than 'higher education' i reckon.. up yours watchtower.

  Morbidsbaby --- w/respect to the orphans and fatherless boys guess God is protecting them and they get out in time to have a real life. If they endured being ostracized and excluded inside the demonic watchtower they should appreciate and cope well in the world --- hoping anyway.

  Wish the schools libraries (jr. high/highschool) made available (w/school counselors advising all students about) anti-cult books in their libraries. If the laws of this country allow religious, cult, freedom they should also educate about the horror stories of them. Yeah, like that is going to happen!

  Something needs to be done to protect the innocent.

  suppose a gb member decided to take a stand for what is right and disassociates or gets disfellowshipped.

  would you be willing and able to provide some assistance like a job or affordable rent?.

  Self-help book weirded me out

  i have been having emotional issues lately, and recently purchased a book on emotional healing.

  ther were a few good things in the beginning, and the last half had some good suggestions.

  it was just the stuff in between that really weirded me out.. it was almost like reading a jw publication.

  NewChapter --- that's the author/thanks. That book came out in the 70's (paperback) and it's hung in there.

  Sometimes enjoyable reading and recall a clinical psychologist instructor saying they're good/helpful. Have you read one called "Feeling Good"? Don't recall the author's name but he's one of the top psychiatrists in the world and this is one of the best books or was many yrs. ago.

  I know people who do well attending the Emotions Anonymous meetings but a tad of therapy is good -- in my opinion --- along w/a good book. The "Feeling Good" book has helped friends who didn't have time for therapy appts.

  consider my own family.

  i have jw relatives who gave up everything, moved to where the need was greater and they have never been happy.. they've been constantly in poor health, suffered with depression and had feuds within their own jw family.

  Corned Beef

  last year i purchased a corned beef package from trader joes.

  i love corned beef but my husband didn't so i rarely cooked it for the family.

  but trader joes was passing out samples last year, i couldn't resist and hubby decided he liked it but i'm only to buy the corned beef from trader joes.

  Agonus --- Arby's has good rueben sandwich -- good to know. The best (easy to grab) in Vegas is Jason's Deli. These places are in most cities, I think. It was very good grade of corned beef until economy slipped but still the best other than going to one of the famous, nyc sister delis on strip.

  steve2 --- it's hard for me to respect the laws of the lands when it comes to children and i let legalmen know every chance i get.

  You truly were fortunate to have loving parents --- you're way ahead of the game on that one.

  I think it's unsafe for women/boys and girls no matter no matter no matter. I know there are wonderful human beings in the world but there's too many wackos and these poor, gullible, witnesses come along and they are easy prey and the evil organization could care less --- as long as they continue pawning off/selling literature to the witnesses. The org. needs to be held accountable.

  I realize crime is down (just what do they consider a crime today) but my community is told to keep their alarm on 24/7 -- I come in from a stroll and illegals are hiding in the bushes -- these are the minor happenings in my hood. You'd think I lived in Mexico City or something. Tell a criminal lawyer crime is down and hear what they have to say.

  steve 2 --- i'd find a lawyer to hold the brooklyn crooks accountable since you were a child --- sorry, I realize you've put it behind you but this is too much. There's always a lawyer out there who will try anything and thank God because their desperately needed w/crooks like the watchtower.
