Those GB buffoons are doing what their money advisors and legal beagles tell them to do. They are puppets enjoying retirement.

What Do Changes Tell You About The GB?
by metatron ini read the may (public) wt and noted how it was almost indistinguishable from the awake - including stuff for small children to read!.
now, why would they create two 16 page magazines?
why not one 32 page awaketower?

IS GOD REAL? HOW DO YOU KNOW?
by still thinking inthis is an honest question on my part.
someone on this board asked me 'how do you know' a while ago and i really struggled with it.
in fact, it was a turning point for me.

Thanks for book title, again. Think you also posted he has a new book out for children but a good basic for anyone.
Question --- I'm assuming learned individuals of physics, the sciences, evolution, etc., do not believe in a god --- for the most part. I'm assuming it's all fantasy and myth? Someone posted Dawkins is certain about evolution 7/8 on a scale of 10 (don't recall exact nos.) because I was shocked it wasn't a 10! I guess as a scientist he leaves room for more proof of everything.

Ok one more time...How do YOU view Jesus???
by 3dogs1husband inso i tried to start a thread here... www.jehovahs-witness.net/social/humour/223581/1/untitled-topic.
and i left it untitled - duh and now i cannot reply to it, and am having trouble opening it.
i thought i would try this again.

Why does Jesus have to age so much as indicated in the pic of him as an exalted king? I missed most of the theocratic school --- obviously, missed something. I don't like their rendition of him in that shot.
Guess I have different images of him.

Anybody here vegan?
by Dagney ini've been considering it for awhile strictly for just general overall health.
i don't take any meds, and would like to keep it that way for as long as i can.
i am a "all things in moderation " type of person but the more i read about excluding dairy and meat, the more i think about doing it.

It's my goal but I fail --- I am trying to (once again) ween myself off of junk bread (sourdough) and go vegetarian --- vegan is the strictest form of vegetarianism? I'm so allergic to milk products and I crave/eat yogurt anyway --- not good! The soy yogurt is way too many points on weight watchers (my friend calculated the points on the w/w point counter for me and it's absurd!) and I don't want to gain weight. don't like being dependent on meat for protein because it's not healthy and prefer nuts, veggies, etc.
Too much rice and grains makes me sugary so I'm forcing myself to try the tofu (firm at this point) and see if that helps in place of meat. I don't eat very much meat --- just when I have to balance out the sugary feeling.
Any suggestions where I can find low-fat tofu? Checked today at Whole Foods and if they don't carry it I'm probably out of luck. How do the 7th day adventists do it!
Great topic --- I need it.

snare&racket --- WOW, thanks so much for the crash course on evolution --- I'm serious! I love reading this and you are right about individuals being ignorant and uneducated. As soon as I finish up a couple of time-consuming situations in the next yr. I'm going to hit the books. I know Terry and many others have recommended many to start with. I certainly need to find those posts and order away.

wha happened --- I believe the poor ones come thru for them. I don't want anyone to be out of work but maybe some won't find extra work in these times and maybe God is helping them out and maybe they'll find someone who has a computer. Guess my life is hopeful on maybes and about the time I give up on any collapse coming on them I read something that makes me hopeful yet again. Ya'd think I'd learn.

I love reading all this and appreciate xtians discussing their faith and think Tec's offer to discuss the existence (likelihood of) a creator is a good idea --- do tell, any and all, what you base your reasoning on.
Application of God's/Jesus' word in my dealings day to day w/individuals in a difficult world makes him real to me. His admonition to love our enemy and be good to them is so contrary to what's in my own heart (unless they're easy to love and have not been evil toward me) or most people. I can name maybe three people in the entire world who really consider the other person's needs, cares, ahead of their own or that individual more important than themselves. This one makes me sideways at times determining and pondering about their needs/desires --- it's tough. It's certainly difficult to love others like we're told but it does work out in the long run if one can trust him in this situation.

do you think the majority of their members can afford to give them money these days? Not in Vegas --- the few wealthier ones must be paying the bills. Of course, many of their people are on state aid/unemployment so they have something to hand over in order to remain a member and part of the congregation but it can't be much.
If the economy doesn't turn around here (hopefully, it already has improved, not sure) they could be in trouble since their recruiting base is mostly the low-income people.

THE SEASON IS NEAR AT HAND!
by justmom inwell ......here we are agian.
april 5th 2012 memorial season.. now, for many many of us here that know and understand what the wtbs really is and...what it isn't, the truth, you may wonder why would anybody want to put themselves out there and actually go the kingdom hall this year ?.
for me and my family who have been disfellowshipped for fourteen years for disagreeing and standing up for the real truth (they called it apaostacy) and my husband partook of the emblems for many years inside as a witness.

Disillusioned Lost Lamb --- great garden details. WOW, wish you could do my yard that is looking sorry and the yard help doesn't seem to care. Don't understand how people think they can run a lawn business but you should have a school.
You are right on about the w/tower --- too bad it's business structure doesn't collapse but only wobbles along these days.

Not fearing Armageddon
by tec insome time ago i was granted some understanding about 'armageddon', and so i am sharing it with you.
i should have shared it when i first received it from our lord.. there is nothing to fear if you are not riding out to make war against someone.
satan deceives the nations and gets them to march against those who belong to christ and god.

Tec --- Appreciate your explanation but just to be clear in your 3rd par/2nd sentence those who seek to destroy are devoured by fire from heaven because God is protecting those who belong to him.
Last paragraph --- so God loves those dedicated to him in addition to those non-xtians who live in peace and make war with no one.
I've heard ministers (on radio) say that it's going to get evil during this time and xtians will be tortured/kiled --- then another will say that Christ returns to save the church. It's very interesting and good post.
