They have to be much like the JWs - about the 3rd or 4th paragraph down it says something like a funeral should be simple, supportive without being ostentatious or seeking to glorify the person who passed (don't mention the poor stiff who contributed to the cult) -- yep, they have the cult's outline down. Why would any JW hire them when the elders have the cult's lines and JW script. Aren't JW funerals without caskets and flowers - maybe a few, minimal, bouquets. So cold and gray.

Yeah - all I use to hear about was the 'opulence and splendor' of the Catholic pope/Vatican, bla bla, and how they steal from their poverty-stricken adherents. I don't know if the illiterate GB members are 'paranoid' but certainly had the basic instinct to know where the good life could be attained.
They will use fear-mongering forever and ever - can't drop down to sporting a Timex after Rolex and Euro threads or giving up their nice digs designed by renown interior experts - overstock/wayfair won't quite cut it. Better to lockstep along - self anesthetizing with spirits or whatever it takes. Tony's whisky wagon he hauls it in isn't much to shout about but probably for a reason. Wonder which liquor distributing outlet got his new account for deliveries.

District convention to be held in assembly hall instead of stadium
by NikL inlast night they announced that this summers district convention will be held at an assembly hall.. this is the first time i've seen this happen.
there are a couple of congregations in the same hall here and they aren't going to the same ones.
they are having multiple dates.. the hall they are going to use can only hold 1500 people max.. just wondering if maybe they just couldnt get anything bigger this year or if the falling numbers are playing a part in this decision.

I heard chatter about this later part of 90s (around '1997) using cult Assembly Halls but not sure they were referring to Calif or NV along with the noise the apostates were making causing issues in France. All I knew about apostates at that time was the interesting signs I'd seen carried at the big circuit assemblies -- whatever they were called where you sit out in the bright sun for endless hours out of town - sleep 3 hrs/jump up early to drive too far to get a decent seat out of the sun but waste of time because the cliques have saved thousands of seats already for good ole boy/gal. Swear JWs must sleep overnight in the parking lot to grab/reserve all the seating. Highlight was the airplane flying over with ad/info 'Why 1914' or number to call or something -- that part was great but by that time I knew it was a horror fest inside the snake pit. -

I disagree the GB are believers. Perhaps at one time in their mission a fraction believed but they stuck with the program and won. Bailing out/giving up their fantasy lifestyle now and returning to their simpleton lives not an option - not even close. They're on stage/acting careers have won the academy-cult award and they're going to make demands/police cult members and beg for their monies until they draw their last breath.
Ray Franz was an anomaly and endeavoring to do the right thing if not for his belief system for mankind - very rare. He gave it all up -- and Old Unc didn't even help him. Blood relatives/family failure 101.

So now it's Pompeo and Pence who are "warmongers" -- right! I hope President Trump continues with strength via words/warnings of action whatever it takes to protect the world from the actions/problems caused by the previous inept, leadership -- Obama/Ole Hil. Iran ring a bell and billions dropped off to aid them.
You could always refer back to Horndog Clinton re/his gifts to the NoKo despot (don't forget bombing the aspirin factory -- doesn't get better than those 2 Dem leaders) and how successful that's been. One dismal failure after the other but easier to ignore the facts.
