my elementary school teacher, miss allen, gathered us in a circle just outside the classroom under overspreading limbs of a pecan tree.

as she spoke, we all listened intently - the expression on her face seemed to say, "this is very important.".

TERRY, TERRY, TERRY - how I LOVE your stories! I've missed so many and VOW to hunt them down from this moment forward. You would have made an excellent educator! Society still needs you - you'd be a great asset to the young (and OLD) minds.

Your 'Secret of Life' took me back in time to all the happy times I walked by the mammoth, pecan, tree, en route to my grandparents' home (my favorite place on planet earth) and all my grandfather's beloved date palms (fat trunk palms? - not sure). I loved that old, tall, pecan, tree. Please carry on - stay well!

one person yesterday said he lies.

another person said she hears from her clients in her business that the constant drama and push back from all sides against trump is fatiguing.. i remind people that before this worldwide pandemic, we had the best numbers in jobs.

San Antonio stats might be indicative of the hispanic community - I've not had time to check out the above-referenced link. COVID 19 is really hitting the hispanic community in the San Joaquin Valley bread basket (California) - they work in close proximity in the fields/packing sheds etc., and many don't think they'll be affected. Brutal statistics for hispanics in my state, also. Many employed in hotel business and they don't wear masks - or weren't. None of the hispanic gardeners wear face masks - they might be now that it has been mandated but the sun obviously doesn't knock the virus out or not enough skin is left uncovered - they wear so much sun protective clothing and the Vitamin D can't penetrate skin. Not good. Too many family/friend social gatherings with no social distancing/masks. The numbers are looking much better for the African Americans here. Too many use public transportation and take the infections into the nursing homes or work at more than one nursing home facility thus spreading the disease. Nursing homes are not protective of residents and have large turnover of caregivers - poor hourly pay.

US is a huge country and you can't compare US to Switzerland.

We all realize Sweden has had a rough time. All the riots in many US cities certainly haven't helped regardless of the Left's rhetoric. The bars/clubbing and social lives of the young have caused great increases, also. Death rates are down for most part which is a positive. The severity of the strain isn't making COVID patients as sick as previously and, hopefully, really is weakening although the younger ones are more resilient. The young aren't hospitalized for as long and ICU methods not as critical as in April here. Many young ones haven't taken COVID 19 seriously and have acted foolishly.

President Trump relied on info from previous admin's "experts" shutting off travel to/from Chi con territory and Europe. He freaked the LEFT out since China is there gravy train.

Looks like President Trump is also right re/Hydroxychloroquine in spite of the FDA's inadequate research - again! Henry Ford Macomb study reports it SAVES LIVES and Fauci's Remedesivir is totally worthless after he insisted the gov't buy up as many reserves of it as possible.

Liberals and their biases - can't admit the positives because they want the country locked down and economy dying - hummmm wonder why that is - ahh, yes, we know. Once a Dem always a Dem - thankfully so many in this country do have open minds.

We'll never forget the words of Dr. Fauci in January that China is a model of transparency. Who trusts him - don't wear masks - they're hazardous to your health - okay, wear them - he himself admitted he wears them out at night but he seldom goes anywhere. Online dating/sex is okay.

WHO finally admitted there had been no transparency only because they're currently not receiving millions from the US government - it's working as a truth serum.

Covid 19 and your post is your opinion. Of course the virus isn't "left or right," but you don't have evidence of anything about it nor do I.

Everything was shut down in US at great loss. Brazil did not do stay at home mandates and carried (like Sweden) on per their natives here that I know who do not in any way compare it to the measures the US took.

Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name

all my jw life i was reminded constantly about the importance of not bringing reproach on jehovah's name.

decisions on whether or not to disfellowship an individual often turned, not on the seriousness of the sin, but on whether the incident was public knowledge and had resulted in bad publicity for the congregation.

i recall a middle-aged lady being reported to the elders for shoplifting a sweet worth less than £1- and the elders' insistence that a judicial committee must be formed because the store manager and staff knew that she was a jw (i successfully argued that all she needed was support for her dreadful family life, but that's another story).

I'm not on FB much or all that familiar with it unless someone sends me email alert but I do see ex-JW posts -- nothing about ARC or didn't pay attention. It's possible I scrolled right on by but FB has lots of subscribers. Someone should post the JW/ARC info on twitter and Parler.com - some prominent peeps on there. Maybe those are for political postings only. Parler.com is on a roll and very popular.

Of course there's a plethora of COVID cases because of life resuming - lockdowns haven't quite proved to be worth it - yet! The young are rebelling and want their life back - everyone does! It's a positive for herd immunity although the elderly will have to lie low/protected unlike in Marxist NY and other east coast loon areas - even NV the socialist crook governor didn't protect the nursing homes. Affected ages NOW are mostly 18-24 - then 24 - 44 - deaths are LOW! Not good for older ones (nothing is) because it will spread but ICU numbers are being inaccurately counted for the left's AGENDA/MO - fossil Fauci is promoting Biden and is a die-hard leftist. Most ICU's are not COVID 19 but other severe illnesses - people waited to go to hospitals for serious health issues due to COVID. Of course hospitals are busier (not near their capacity - not EVEN CLOSE other than delayed care from other critical health problems) but the death rate is down in most areas. Can't trust the state media. Get the facts!
