  most of the individuals here from what i have read have gravitated to believing in evolution for various reasons and no longer have a belief in a creator.. the questions begs though, is there a higher conscious in the universe than mankind's.

  i am sure everyone agrees that animals are conscious, but to what extent can they reason?.

  Anna Marina - I wasn't even thinking about "Trinity" and didn't intend to be confusing/sorry about that. I never understood anything trinity but recall WT's interpretation of John 1:1 different than the KJV or whatever was used decades ago in protestant churches.

  you can’t even talk about your preferences with some people because they get very upset.

  These pics are hilarious - I saw a winner online yesterday of ole Horndog Clinton and Bi-Dumb - oh my. Something about the black vote then hauling them to jail and dumping them. Someone sent me - may have been off of twitter. Some gorgeous pics of Ole Hil lately. WOW - the serious corruption but goes with the territory of lifer, professional, get immensely wealthy, politicians.

  Maybe check out left's beloved CNN coverage starting with Bozo Cuomo. What fraud/corruption but he's just another puppet.

  Mail-in voting is corrupt and has been going on - nothing new unless one is a Marxist leftist then it's okay. Votes should be protected. Legal, identification should be necessary for voters. Here's an idea - do your own research.

  Not good idea to wear political attire - I have worn the baseball cap once or twice - lots of adorable veterans and they have stickers on their motor carts and wear their caps.

  Some social acquaintances weren't uncomfortable talking - endlessly - about Michelle Obama's attire few yrs. ago but it doesn't work both ways.

  Sounds like the crazy really started after President Reagan was elected - left wasn't going to allow that to happen again and the brainwashing began big time in the education arena. WOW - unreal. CNN really isn't a news org - everything is scripted for the left - as if that's news.

  Politics/Religion always sensitive subjects. It's odd how many of us have flipped political parties (none at all/independent/Dem/Rep/whatever) so we're obviously capable of hearing others. Seems religion isn't such a hot button as decades ago but possibly because it's tabu to discuss in public -- much like politics.

  It's good to have a board like this where we've freedom to sound off and just have to learn to take constructive criticism from others - not easy, but good. I'd love to hear views re/why others prefer this/that the other rather than endorsements of candidates (which are good, also). How can anyone trust government to do anything right - I think that's the concern of many. Freedom and independence is a beautiful thing once we make the great escape from authoritarian parent(s) and cults and religions if controlling.

  I think political posts can be polarizing the same as when Obummer was in office and some were gagging and holding on but reluctant to say much. It's good we're more vocal now - I know so many like poster in another topic today (sorry/another post/UK) that gave up/didn't even bother to vote until 4 yrs. ago. Everyone needs hope.

  We do learn from one another re/politics (like religion) and I think this site is great for facts as long as we don't blow up and take time (not easy) to read. I'm unfamiliar with Reddit unless someone links.

  Portland - WOW! Liberalism center of planet earth. If few of the younger ones I know are any indication - WOW! I think the education system - anyway, they clearly have different goals for US and those in the education arena and law are quite vocal and adamant. It's a great city (or was) and I can't imagine it being as pathetic as my beloved San Francisco but different bad now. Lewis & Clark in neck of the woods - beautiful and this younger crowd wasn't educated there altho it's been liberal for decades.

  i've already posted in an earlier thread how the pandemic benefits the org in that it presents it an excuse to go completely electronic and sell all buildings (if that's what it wants).

  however, there is another way the pandemic benefits the org; it presents it an excuse for declining numbers.. many of us have wondered just how much of a downturn there's been in jw land in recent years.

  we've wondered whether the org was playing with the numbers to make the situation appear better than it was.
