Covid Vx likened to Jesus ransom

this morning i decided to log into the local cong meeting on zoom, during the public talk the speaker likened the covid vx to jesus ransom sacrifice, saying that those who didn't avail of the vx, the 'anti vaxxers', are just like people who refuse to put faith in jesus.. i felt sick, knowing my unvxed but active jw parents were sitting there, i logged off immediately.

surely such talk is pure blasphemy or am i just over reacting?!.

i appreciate your thoughts, it will hopefully help me to approach my jw family with facts and logic, i'm praying they wake up fully and 'get out of her', i know they have reservations that's why they refused the vx..

Lawyers release survey on alleged Jehovah's Witness child abuse

a team of lawyers has released the results of its survey on alleged child abuse by members of the jehovah's witnesses religious group in japan.. the team held a news conference in tokyo on monday.

it provides legal support to former members of the group as well as to children of its members.. the lawyers conducted the survey, following the publishing of the health and welfare ministry guidelines last year about child abuse related to parents' religious beliefs.

a total of 560 people responded.. the survey shows 81 percent of the respondents said they had cards indicating they desired to refuse blood transfusions.. the ministry's guidelines state that parents' refusal of medical treatments for children on religious grounds amounts to neglect --- a form of abuse.. the lawyers said investigations are necessary to find how many people died from refusing blood transfusions, and how many of them were children.. the survey also shows 92 percent of the respondents experienced whipping, 96 percent were banned from school activities, and 93 percent were forced to limit their human relations.. the lawyers said many of the children experienced physical and mental abuse, which afterward led to problems such as loneliness, sense of alienation and a lack of self-esteem.

@LV101 Do you have a source for this? I think I read on an email from one of my subscriptions -- most likely one from Substack. I will try to find but really busy next few days w/Thanksgiving. The only other place I would have read about religions being compensated would have been on a Telegram channel.

If you go on substack and type in subject matter maybe something will surface.

Data Dog may have info about or Was A New Boy. I think the info was posted on this site by someone several mos ago but I did pick up from another source. It may have been under Cofty's post entitled, 'Excess Deaths' but not sure. There's been so many topics before the 'Excess Deaths' one. If I run it down I'll yell out.

IWant2Know -- I want to know who you're referring to -- was she a Christian? I don't believe the one I'm thinking was.

I think I know who you're referring to but I can't think of her name -- very knowledgeable, incredible research, unusual screen name -- oh my. Everyone could rely on her knowledge/research.

Help -- many of you are quite familiar with her posts. She's been inactive for quite a few yrs. now.

Manners and Respectfulness

i would like to know if there are any ex's or formers who still appreciate good manners and respectfulness?

IWant2Know -- I agree many parents fall short teaching manners, respect and need help, however, many do an excellent job. I don't think JWs are better mannered/respectful than others -- many people whether Catholic, Baptist, non-religious, whatever, have manners and are leading honorable, ethical, lives.

There seems to be some serious issues in society today. I can't believe what schools, cities, police, parents, etc., etc., are dealing with.
