Thanks, Sea Breeze - I couldn't believe WT's theology/interpretation of NC nor could I understand why a loving god would give me life and expect it back - all my time, assets, everything, my life!! I had no idea what it was really about.

How Much Damage Would You Assess?
by Sea Breeze injust as there is no such thing as a christian who worships satan, there is no such thing as a christian outside of the new covenant “for the forgiveness of sins”.
and he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, drink ye all of it, for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The snake of Genesis 3:1
by Halcon inwe've got some really knowledgeable members on here so i have a question for them and everybody.
what was the earliest adjective used to describe the snake of genesis 3:1?
currently one can read words in english translations like 'cunning' and 'crafty'....but in other languages you see words like 'wise' and astute...which convey a completely different idea.. i'm wondering what may have been the earliest and most accurate adjective known or used.

Kaleb - your views are important and interesting re/Jewish history/beliefs and anything else you choose to discuss. Knew a couple of Jewish JWs -- don't believe they're still active and other Jewish people who think JWism is disgusting. They can't imagine how anyone would be involved with such a despicable religion.

VICE: The Dark Secret at the Heart of Jehovah's Witnesses
by WingCommander injust dropped on vice network's youtube channel.
no matter what you may think of some of vice's politics, they have several good series throughout the years.
this is one of their series that interviews informants and people who've left and they expose the inter workings of things.

Beth Sarim - I hope the JW community is waking up -- would love to know how many are leaving these days.

Disaster preparedness
by ElderBerry inas your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.
also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.
please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

The whole gobag thing originated with Hurricane Katrina, when the WTS lost all track of some members who used it to fade away. Congregation elders did not have or had out of date lists of phone numbers and addresses of the rank file....the go bag thing started shortly after that.
AWESOME! ^^^^ the great escape!

Mikejw - Mormans have been prepared for decades for emergencies and have more resources/relief plans, personal protection and most likely most medical/dental professionals on their teams to care for humans than any religious group. Mainstream and Catholics have their fair share of professionals, also. Mormans also claim to be the first relief team during disasters, however, the Baptists have been reported to be so that's something religions crow about. Everyone is number uno (one).
Longy - I agree with you and wouldn't rely on JWs for anything. Thinking about JW membership is manically depressing and would send me into an 'episode' and I'm not bipolar or suffer from depression. Not a good survival plan at any age -- I'd rather face the odds.

but if ever that evil slave says in his heart, ‘my master is delaying,’b 49 and he starts to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards.
hmm... let's see is anyone on the governing body a strict master and a drunkard?

I was quoting Scully's 2nd paragraph above. It would take a lot of money to run the organization but maybe members contribute enough to keep it afloat don't know.
