last year there was drama surrounding the time and i never really focused on it.

The holidays can be difficult and lonely -- whether or not the w/tower cult has added misery to one. Try to put the holidays in perspective --- it's ONE DAY OUT OF 365 and YOU CAN GET THROUGH ANY 24-hr. period, trust me. THANKFULLY, you have your children on Sunday so prepare/focus for that special day. the crooks of the tower can't take them nor their love away from you. we are not in the minority if we find ourselves experiencing a less than wonderful holiday, but it's easy to tell ourselves we're alone in conflict. Unleash your loving, nurturing self and give in to the holiday spirit w/your children --- there are many people who have no children or anyone you make eye contact with.
Next year can be better --- and the next a little better. Work toward a better life --- one that meets YOUR needs. Deal with your feelings, but don't become overwhelmed with them. Join a support group (asap - ex-witness group in your city or 12-step codependent, we're all codependent for friends/family) and form a new family and many others who have crazy, toxic, brainwashed, families who've never EVEN PART OF THE LOSER WATCHTOWER --- make plans for yourself on xmas day and buy yourself a present and realize it's their loss, not yours -- and there's good, honest, human beings waiting for you to meet and associate with in the real world.

I'm starting to develop a real hatred toward this religion
by man in black inthis past week i flew out of town to attend a seminar for work, then afterwards i drove 150 miles extra to go and visit my dad.. two years ago my mom died, and the lack of concern/caring from the so-called "friends" from two different states was a major reason why i walked away from the jw religion.. anyway, my dad is depressed and his local hall has him doing more fs, and attending the meetings,,, ok so that could be a good thing for him.. but i noticed that service and meeting attendance is the only thing that they are pushing on him.
nobody seems to check up on him, he just jumped at the chance to go out to eat with me.
and the negativity !!!

Robdar --- sounds like w/tower has quite a reputation for stealing (nothing new) --- glad you are on top of this and wish we were all there to support you.
funny thing -- when i relocated one of my parents to another city, an elder had been coming around pruning trees (parent never a witness). i contacted this idiot to get a quote while the property was vacant and he was definitely shocked someone else was in the equasion taking over the property & would not be dealing w/elderly parent. knowing how crooked many of the witnesses were, i let him know i was quite aware of what evil, conniving, non god-fearing people the JW's and their masters were and they were the last people on the face of the earth anyone trusts. i told him to stay off the property or he'd need legal help. they're the worse employees (housework, gardening, etc.) i've ever hired in my life, and i've heard this from many witnesses when i was in.

has she deeded the house --- if she's incompetent when she deeded it over YOU CAN CHALLENGE IT (and let's face it --- you have to be incompetent to deed something over to this cult --- get some guns (good lawyers even if you apply/retain free ones). IF SHE HAS NOT SIGNED A DEED --- FAMILY MEMBERS (you) need to go in and get a GUARDIAN APPOINTED.
get yourself a lawyer -- and there are specialists in most communities for senior services. DON'T SIT BACK AND LET THESE CROOKS STEAL FROM YOUR MOTHER and you since you are blood. check your phone book for legalaid --- senior services asap. SO SORRY YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS --- but stand up to them.

i can't even read this anymore --- how elders are getting (GETTING????? wtf?????) someone's mother's house and she has dementia --- so HELP ME GAWD i hate this sick cult! and they think scientology is scary! i can't believe that God doesn't punish this publishing co.
this country's freedom of religion has turned into a nightmare w/companies around like the watchtower.

onwayout -- you're right. i have in my skull the GB are front men and not the real power w/the stockholders (or whoever profits) calling the shots.

i think they have all these corporations to protect all the monies and (the publishing empire) stockholders' earnings do not have to be reported. what a deal under the scheme of nonprofit religion. all the stiffs forced to buy their product/literature/books/tapes/whatever and do their forced door to door ministry. i think there should be a nonprofit group dropping off literature door to door to warn the innocent (since laws protect anything religion can pull off) doing good to stand between the EVIL AND THE INNOCENT to warn about the stockholders fleecing them --- if this is what happens. there's some reason for the high control.
some states allow stockholders to remain unnamed.

I'd think legitimate, nonprofit, religious organizations provide financial info. JOYCE MEYERS MINISTRIES provides online information and joel osteen probably has online records. it must not be compulsory for the unethical ones but it makes no sense. other nonprofits that are real charities like salvation army, catholic charities, etc., post their financial info.

FLIPPER --- I THINK nonprofits, especially religious entities, should report and account for every single penny. one time the stupid PO mentioned to me (i don't know what we were discussing) that the organization didn't have the money for something and heard elders talk about how much money it takes to provide back at bethel for all the workers and overseas operations -- bla, bla -- and one witness told me an elder pulled her aside and told her she could not ask for any more videos because it costs the society so much money and they couldn't afford to give them away and she needed to contribute approx. $30 for a video.
Satanus has indicated the voting members and stockholders make money --- Satanus, do tell. what the hay --- they aren't/are a corporation? did you receive any shares when you joined. how do we get stocks. i don't understand when it's a nonprofit religious org. i think we should all start a nonprofit called protect people and find out some info. seems several yrs. ago someone posted asset/financial statements on one of their corporations --- maybe this is how the stockholders get their cut.
