I'm glad they're not following the protocol of their GB sales directors - they probably can't afford both normal clothing and cult coverings. The ones I know or knew of here dress very conservative -- longer skirt lengths, no questionable necklines/c-thru clothing or textured/fish net hosiery, no ostentatious/costume jewelry, etc. Very modest which is good. Probably normal for the older people but I've heard there are many young ones in couple halls (strange) but city has unusual dynamics.

Ford versus Ferrari
by jhine inso after the unqualified success of my last review ( green book ) l thought that l would try again .
l went to see ford versus ferrari / le mans 66 according to where you live .
now l am no petrol head and talk of motor racing usually makes my eyes glaze over but this film is about much more than laps on a circuit .

I didn't realize the Shelby wasn't always a Ford product - not that I know much about cars. I noticed one in the 90s and was told they weren't being produced for sale. They are manufactured right in LV, NV -- interesting.

Alive - you make some valid points but one must remember that Jesus was probably arrayed in the finest of linens and designer leather sandals/lolol. Darn Euro designers! Wow - some affluent "sisters" across the pond! Really - Christian Louboutin (Paris) pumps my fave/the gorgeous new Prada strappy heels, Manolo Blahniks - a gal can't own too many, but I think the US "sisters" are more the low end/moderate shopper -- if that. The "sisters" here will find out where you shop and what you pay -- throw it up in your face! Gotta love haters! Perhaps the US sisters are just more spiritual - HA! After all there are scriptures about some garb and hair braiding - omg! No matter where they shop many must spend an enormous amount dressing for their pyramid sales meetings/conventions - garage sales are too much to spend for cult membership. Maybe a small % in NYC are designer junkies but not the ones I met.
If I ever attended a church again I'd only go to one that allows jeans and flip flops.

Denim skirts were so cute -- an old bat at the hall out of the clear blue sky started telling me how repulsive/disgusting jeans (designer levis/whatever) were for a woman to wear especially with high heels -- I couldn't believe! It's still fashionable and looks great on the right gals and appropriate places -- I told her to go to a high end mall and get her a pair and not to forget to sport a fur coat with those stilettos or nice pumps. My fave look - the ole bat just stood glaring at me. She'd actually wear spike heels and wild patterned hosiery (looked seedy at hall) and considered herself the GB Goon squad's fashionista.

Zoos - sounds sane! I have couple of friends who avoid socials -- they simply refuse to put their money/time bothering with it and have lots of excuses -- out of town, too tired (older now), could care less, whatever. Actually, I'm tired of having to purchase 'dress to the 9s' type clothing -- I'm ducking what I can after holidays. It's very time consuming. I'm noticing so many people dressing casual today no matter the venue - sometimes too casual, but I get it.

Minimus - nope, no longer have old clothes around (they'd be vintage by now) but I clear stuff out. I can't deal with consignment crazy so I donate and walk on out. I'm a designer junkie (if only it were just dress up, heels, bags, but also casual/fun clothes necessary to live in - leather jackets/boots, etc.) and in my JW days some of my social/good clothes (non formal) had matching skirts/dress I'd purchase so I was able to get another wear/use at meetings - ahh, a positive! Now I don't have to buy both slacks/pant and skirt - I knew I was saving money somewhere/lol.
You guys need to find a consignment store or donate for write off.

Another High School Shooting ... Santa Clara California
by RubaDub inat least at the moment it looks like no one is dead, but 6 injured (9:00 am pacific time 14 nov 2019).. i don't know if the school allows students to carry weapons, but many will think it would be a good idea for the students to carry concealed weapons to provide personal protection.. we shall see.. rub a dub.

An innocent child killed because an Asian boy has mental issues or perhaps angry (or doesn't own enough designer clothing/items) -- this is horrific and sad. Why aren't students being encouraged to see the school psychologist (all students for a get acquainted w/mental health checkup) on campus. A litany of protective measures need to be taken in schools. Obviously there were no metal detectors at school's entrance.

If the banks have armed guards I've not noticed but I'm sure they've someone on alert. Tellers do stand behind walled bullet proof glass. My husband has been in bank line with robber standing a man right behind him (before the closed off glass sections) and recently on grocery store errand with hold up at the small inside bank a few feet away from check out he was standing at - no protective glass for tellers which is not good.
Schools need serious security -- they don't have problems inside the gaming venues/casinos any more because of cameras everywhere and trained security guards walking around and watching overhead all gaming and everything else. I've family member who is in school administration - you can't believe the threats the principals receive.

Canadians and Europeans, what do you think of your national health care ?
by RubaDub inwe have been in a battle over health care for so long here in the us regarding public, private, gov't subsidized, obama care, medicare for all, and just about every permutation of the above.. we hear the horror stories here that people wait 20 years for a check-up (ok, bit of an exaggeration), but you get the point.
one side tells us that canadians flock across the border when they are sick and need to see a doctor.
the other side says that is simply not the case.. so tell us, if you live under one of the government systems would you replace it?

Very expensive going to the ER but not for those without insurance on Medicare/Medicaid or homeless. Many people without assets all qualify for Medicaid in this country and receive the same insurance as those on Medicare. Medicaid is socialism - if you do some research the US is right behind the EURO countries (some Nordic ones) in socialism - rates about the same and we've had previous posts about this. Other terms for used in US - regardless it's provided and tax payers already pay for this.
