this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

LHG - I want nothing from China nor did I before this horror. I'd heard people weren't eating Chinese food but I thought because they were worried about particular food ingredients/products coming from there. I don't think you're going to be alone - I love it, too - especially Panda Express/ay yi yi. I love the regular Chinese restaurants, also.

I must find that post of Simon's re/medical supplies. Is that under this topic? What a couple of weeks this has been - surreal - and this is only the beginning!

Is there a 'guesstimate' when this COVID 19 spread into the US -- after the Chinese New Year?

I think the US closed it's borders to China before Australia. President Trump closed down border January 30 and the liberals went berserk. Dems went off again when he closed down flights to/from Italy (re the outbreak info), Spain, etc. It's an emergency and Dems are having a difficult time hiding their true colors/lies.

Cuomo and de Blasio are only proficient at corruption and did nothing medically constructive in the state of NY to prepare them against pandemics or anything else. Thousands have been fleeing from the state of New York for past years because of the taxes, political horror/corruption alone. Now they can't get out of Dodge fast enough.

trying to put politics aside (even though that won't really work), but ny governor andrew cuomo is blowing the other politicians out out the water (orange man [trump] and the lizard [biden]).. i don't know if cuomo has a usb port in the back of his head plugged into a hard drive but the guy speaks, analyzes and talks coherently.

the orange man always passes difficult questions to someone else.

the lizard can't comprehend what the question is but tries to answer something.. cuomo comes out with facts, analysis and direction on what needs to be done.

Cuomo dropped the ball and turned down opportunity to purchase thousands of ventilators 2 yrs ago. He was offered first choice - he wouldn't update his state's inept system knowing it was antiquated and broken under Obama administration. He refused and ignored the facts and now he's crying like a brat and blaming/playing political games.

Obama - what a joke - how many people walked away from the Democratic party because of the ruling class' decades of corrupt history. I personally know so many people who couldn't stomach his non-leadership nor the Clintons. Why can't the Dem party get qualified candidates and stop the corruption - they've choked themselves and the country.

The governor of NY had a chance 2 yrs. ago to purchase 1600 respirators/ventilators but he turned them down.

The entire health care system (like the swamp DC and the military and the economy, etc., etc., broken/corrupt!) has been broken for years - nothing new.

Cuomo didn't prepare his state - not that any one did - but he likes to play blame game now when the federal gov't is doing everything possible for NY. He's lied one too many times now and not trustworthy. He should have learned under the Obama administration. Aside from his political blame game, I do appreciate his positive work thus far for the people of NY re/COVID 19. He's really hurt the other states allowing NYers to hit the road and run when many are infected - totally irresponsible spreading the disease. No wonder he's warning everyone else outside of NY they'll be in same boat. Makes sense - he's very liberal and doesn't believe in borders even during worldwide pandemic - why would one expect more of him.

you know, put the wine and crackers on a table and everyone cycle through and touch the idols followed by a hand wipe sheet.. ...and then i thought, that’s what the catholics do, buffet style!.

Can you imagine the germs -- even passing that filthy wine glass up and down the trained seals rows. I freak thinking about what Hepatitis traps the Baptist/Christian churches were handing around emblems row to row years ago. Like the wrapper free cream mints restaurants use to leave sitting out at check out registers in the dark ages were nothing but Hepatitis pits.

Can't believe JWs will waste more precious time this yr on zoom - I'd use excuse of 'technical' issues but I'm sure they're waiting for the show.

LongHairGal - lie low from the WT snakes crawling around for donors. I hope they're begging for contributors but that's their normal game unless they're drilling down for shekels. Sure is hurtful for those of us they omit contacting/lololol. I think I would tell them I won't be able to attend but more than honored/happy to mail my contribution monthly the way I do with Joel Osteen Ministries and Myers, Salvation Army and the Catholic Charities. At least someone benefits from the last 2 mentioned 'legal set up religious crazy'!

we all know that things are all going to be way different when we get through this milestone.. like hurricane katrina, people survived this but new orleans even 16 years later is way different.

our economy is like a shark that must keep moving through the water.

LHG - I KNOW! I can't imagine this going on, however, Easter is in 2 weeks. After listening to Cuomo/NY how it would soon hit the rest of the country like NY -- I can't imagine how this will play out but 2 weeks! I can't see it happening -- it's not going to evaporate or burn out unless the meds prove to be miraculous -- let's hope.
