5 1/2 month old dog named "Missy"......she's half Labrador half Blue Heeler....she only spent 2 days in the doggie pound before we rescued her........is she not cute????

I still don't understand why we have to sing so many songs. It really irritates me.

I always liked the songs....it sounded so pretty when so many people sang....and when the baptism song was (darn I threw all my songbooks away too no I'm not sure what the name was) I think it was "To God We Are Dedicated" I always had a tear in my eye.......

How many people have you "unwitnessed" since you've been out?

i was thinking about this the other day.

in 25 (ish) years of being a witness... well i guess i became a publisher at like 12 or 13 so actually only 13 (ish) years of service... (i could be a doctor in less time... ugggg) i went out in service lets say an average of ten hours a month... so were talking 120 hrs a year lets call it 1500 total hours.

in that time i brought no one into the truth!

My sister in law got out first and then her husband, and she talked to me so I started reading and got out and my niece and her husband got out, my daughter (unbap. pub) got out and my son stopped going after a while and my husband does not attend anymore....haha, so that's 6 in one family......no I try as the opportunity comes to talk with "old friends", but seem to have only one or two left....they all seem to have disappeared?

*wonders why?*

tonight i just found out via es on jwd that she knows my nephew in australia and here is the amazing kicker, my nephew is d/f, i couldn't believe what i was reading.

i am so happy and excited i am ready to bust.

this was a nice thread to read, finally some good news!!! Hope all goes well for ya'll and that you OFC will be a big help for your nephew, we all know he will need the help, as we did.

just curious....because i left before being baptized, my parents handled all the donations and i never gave them a penny.

how many posters on this board actually gave large or not so large sums of money to the jws, either directly, or as 'gifts' to pioneers, cos, etc??

when they used to charge for books and magazines....or at least we knew hoch much they cost, I put in what the cost was....25 cent per magazine, a few dollar for books and a few more for videotapes......later I gave less and felt bad, but there were some times when I put 50 Dollar and more, because my husband made good money at the time, and we always gave good at conventions......

oh well

I always heard people saying the JW's are a cult.....my reply was a cult is a religous group that follows a human leader, a sect is a splintergroup aof a mainstream religion and we are neither.....well now that I am thinking more clrealy, I do believe that religions that INTERPRET scripture and force it onto it's members for the risk of disfellowshipping is a cult. Because now people do not follow Christ or God, but the ones that do the interpreting....the GB.

So yeah, it's a cult, but if it makes the members of it happy so be it. I'm happy on the outside!

i have been talking to a few people here privately and i came to the decision that i will not post anymore here.

those few individuals i talked to were nice and the way they were treated by the "friends" was all too familiar to me and it makes me truely sad.

i also see that some on here are not so nice.

hey Derrick....sorry I did not have a chance to get to know you better......I just started posting really and now you are leaving and you are from TEXAS.....mind telling me from where?

Anyways...I wish you the best for your future...whether it be in a Kingdom Hall or not. Please don't judge people on their beliefs or disbeliefs.......who are we to do that?
