As we learn about some of the things we thought we knew it is often so interesting is it not. I knew that circuit overseers took the oath and I thought that it was so "majestic" on their part, so spiritual. And now I see it is/was once again all about the filthy lucre. Ah well, just as long as the r&f have a proper view of materialism.

Need Copy of Recent "Questions From Readers" About JWs Eating Fats...
by ziddina inwhen i attended a support-group meeting in february [2009], someone in the group brought a wtbts magazine with a very odd "questions from readers" on the back.
[may have been the jw version of feb. 2009 watchtower??].
the "questions from readers" was something to the effect of "are jehovah's witnesses allowed to eat fats?

Uh yes that is to funny on a couple counts. first if I had checked the header I would have seen it is a spoof. The news before t happens . . . anyway funnier yet is that I got to that page from a link provided by a pro jw comment on this news article suggesting it as proof of the sign of the times in these last days.

One elder would stand holding the hand of his second wife during prayer (so sweet and loving) while the sister who it turns out he was cheating on her with stood one aisle over. He also conducted the tower at an assembly while this affair was going on.

I can remember spouting that mindset. I remember too, feeling my right to be on their doorstep and in their face superceded their feelings because Jehovah who I was out there preaching for "owned" everything.
