34Weird Prayer at Last Year's DC - GB Worship
by LostGeneration inat the last dc i will ever attend in 09' some elder was called up to do the morning prayer.
i dont recall him being introduced as a co or anything thats why i say elder.. he starts off slowly and 20 seconds in i realize this is his moment of glory, giving a prayer at the dc and he is going to take his sweet time.
i know the closing prayers are like at least 5 or 10 minutes, but this guy is going to kick off the morning with a long rambling diatribe..... so part way in he gets to the "slave" and he starts naming them off one by one.....ya know thanks for splane, pierce, barr, loesch....so on and so on....til he gets through them all.

Since marriage is a sacred arrangement, divorce is not to be taken lightly. In fact, God's Word states that Jehovah hates a divorce that has no Scriptural basis.-ReadMalachi2:13-16;3:6.Yikes! more adding to the scriptures in that little tidbit. "a divorce that has no scriptural basis" can't squeeze that outta Malichi. What are jah's emotions on ones that have a scriptural basis. Just doesn't like them much, hates them but not as much, surely not likes them.
I must admit as a man, some ladies have an uncanny ability to handle this headship thingy with real dignity and aplomb. Especially in the case where the woman is clearly more able in the ability to use the brain and intellect, I have known some who were able to excercise that ability while letting the husband keep his dignity. It is an ability which I believe is worthy of praise and can be more helpful in the marital arrangement then anything in this article.

It is quite interesting to follow this speaker with the outline. He actually "adlibbed" added a lot to the outline, and to me made it far more difficult to get the point they were trying to drive home. Strong emphasis on just 2 groups is not in the outline. If you listen to the talk from mp3 provided by yknot thread, that brother follows outline very closely.

now since i don't know any of them personally i'm not best qualified to answer this but from what i've read i would choose geoff jackson.
the only strike he has aganst him is the fact that he's a widower; i would think the hope of the resurrection is a pretty strong inducement to ignore what's under your nose.. any other opinions?.

in light of the wts's recent attempts to conceal it's talks from broader inspection and documentation, mp3s to the public are now mostly the works of the 'conscious class' and those exjws who force themselves to endure hours upon hours of control-laced presentations.

the source for this could be explained by the following "The Branch has arranged for each convention, assembly, and special assembly day to be recorded by the sound department and sent to the local congregations. A locally appointed elder will be responsible for making the recording available to those unable to attend their assigned event and check the program out to them. Check with your coordinator for details." this is from an e-mail yahoo group of witnesses. Seems like they read the comments possibly here saw how goofy they were and decided to look like heroes instead of dofus's.

Yesterday I was in Tim Hortons with grandson. A witness that I know quite well comes in, sees me and comes over and sits down. After sundry greetings talk goes to how dire things are in the "world" etc. His assembly is this weekend and others in this general area was last weekend. So he has heard some ruminations about the program. Tells me how the program is very serious in tone and cautioning to be very aware of conditions in the world. My taking note of the fact that the real crunch was about two years ago and we seem to be in a bit of a recovery mode did not keep him from warning me to be ready for "this fall". Told me that the program pointed out that "they" find things are moving along quicker than "they" anticipated. I guess we just forget that the 75 fiasco and all the your child will not start school, finish school, get married, etc., in this system should be prompting a "things are moving along slower than we expected". I asked about the new generation explanation and when he hummed and hawed about it I reminded him that he had studied it in tower already he tried to explain it a bit. Just had no clue what it was and commented that he would have to read it again. I explained what the "new light" on it was and it was clear that he neither got it nor did he care. Main concern was how dire the world conditions are and I should try to make it for some of the assembly. He said that Sunday would be a good day to catch since some of the good stuff was on then. He mentioned that his co visit is next week and it was obvious he wasn't looking forward to it in the week following his assembly. He is 73, so I suggested that he could, if he requested his wife, younger by a few years to jab him when important stuff came up, sneak in a few winks. He said that she never lets me doze. She pokes me every time I nod off. Anyway I guess the main reason for this post is my amazement at the total dissonance when talking to these people. And this in spite of the fact I know what to expect. So I guess since things are moving along much faster than "they" expected they would I better get back to the org. right quick.
