I understand and have heard (tongue in cheek) that one of the summer dc's releases will be "new world translation of the english dictionary". It will contain all proper christian definitions based on the septuagentleman manuscripts. This will be a far more accurate source for word definitions than can be found in the current "worldly sources"

So really just how long is a generation in regards to the length of human life ?
by thetrueone inthe recent topics covering over the new overlapping generation doctrine being put out by the wts.
stirred up some research.
by myself on the meaning and use of the word generation.. here's some interesting things i found out .. most interpretations reveal that a generation if no longer than 30 or 40 years in length.. nowhere have i found that the meaning of a generation is an entire length of a human life span.. on the other hand the wts has their own interpretation of the word, they contend that.

some have said that they (gb) say you can't record the talks. Not what they have said. they are trying to control the way they are used. they would look foolish if they insisted on no copying of the material for poor sister sickly that can't make it to the assembly. but they have said not to distribute them. as a sidenote I follow a yahoo group that is witnesses and the resistance to being controlled by this admonition from the gb is strong. a big part of this group is the making available talks from all sources (circuit ass, district ass, public talks) and basically they are refusing to accept that the admonition includes what they are doing/ I am surprise that I have not seen a message that they have been ordered to cease and desist, but apparently to this date it hasn't happened.

so Jesus regularly attended meetings for worship (they don't specify which kingdom hall) and may have been thinking about psalm 40:6-8 (in the new world translation I suppose)
7 Jesus showed his keen interest in spiritual things by regularly attending meetings for
worship. With his perfect mind, he must have absorbed everything he heard and read in the
Hebrew Scriptures. (Luke 4:16) He also had another precious possession-a perfect humanbody that could be sacrificed in behalf of mankind. When he was baptized, Jesus was praying
and may have been thinking about the prophetic words of Psalm 40:6-8.-Luke 3:21; read Hebrews

Field Service Question
by zzaphod ini know that the wts say`s that the jw`s are ever on the increase, more people, more studies etc.
yet where i live, (a residential suburb of quite a large city), i rarely see the jehovah`s witnesses going from door to door.
i think that they`ve knocked on my door once, and i got a memorial invite pushed through the letter box a few weeks ago.

If you are a constant not at home you get called on weekly. Of course you generally have no idea you were called on because you were not at home. It does probably still count as a refusal to support one of these least ones of christs brothers and means your imminent distruction at "The great day of Harmageddon.

BluesBrother has a great point. In the same paragraph, par 1, they say "it was after they had been baptized with holy spirit." and then "they would have been baptized in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit". So which was it, with holy spirit or in the name of the holy spirit, because in par 2 they say there is a difference. "is there any difference between being baptized with holy spirit and being baptized in the name of the holy spirit? Yes." Also if, as they suggest anointed would be "with holy spirit" does this mean all today are not of that class since they also say this "But what of water baptism in the name of the holy spirit, something that regularly occurs at assemblies and conventions of Jehovah's people in our day?"
So I wonder is this just to spiritually deep for me or is it just all bullshite.

Theological U-Turns - new WT lingo for flip flops?
by Meeting Junkie No More inin the new rag entitled what has happened to sin (june's issue i believe), there's a 'box' that talks about the catholic church's limbo doctrine.
the wt writers, in their audacity, have decided to call the catholic church's altered stance on this subject a 'theological u-turn'.
just thought i'd pass that along so that we know what to call the borg's 'new light' takes on various issues.

I listened to the mp3 of that article. It is (to funny, sad, disgusting) not sure how to express it, but I guess hypocritical will work. I'd love to have a hard copy of that. They just gotta get their act together and provide pdf downloads of all the mags, so it is easier to follow this idiotic stuff.

Identifying the Faithful Slave as the Christ!
by wannabe in45"who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?
god has put his wise servant, in charge of all the other servants in his household.
2he was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as moses was faithful in all god's house.

(Matthew 24:4) 4 And in answer Jesus said to them:. . .
I know the faithful slave is not the gibbering body as they claim, but I don't get your point either. It was Jesus speaking.
