  i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.

  i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

  you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

  I have watched the first half and found interesting that no mention whatsoever is made of Russel becoming a "married" man.

  Titus: You da man. You are a man aren't you? I had a talk with my brother and sis inlaw yesterday. They are eighty years young and like fifty years in the truff. They are the ones that my wife and I studied with, which study convinced us it was the truth. My wife and I have, after now been "free" for about five years after about thirty-five years in. Because of their age I don't see the point of hammering away at the idea of them leaving. I don't even have much chance to have discussions with them. But, yesterday was an exception, did have a discussion and although knowing how their thought process goes I can or must say I was blown away by the way this cult has them in their grasp. My brother has no good answers for many of the points I am able to bring up and so uses the defence, I don't know what the answer to it all is. This in spite of the fact that he still serves as an elder. So it was just reinforced to me that it doesn't matter if they come up with some stupid new generation or a book that hides all the silly stuff or a dvd, they will swallow, maybe hard if necessary and carry on believing the bull,

  Who's on first. That is a great clip and perfectly illustrates the comedy this generation is generating. I actually thought that I understood what they were trying to convey (not that I agreed with it) but it has become so obvious from the different takes on it just how convoluted it really is. Seems like each one who tries to get the gist sees it in a different way. I am beginning to think they may be relying on spirit/spirits that come in a bottle rather than what they claim, as in relying on gods holy spirit. Makes one just go "Holy Shite"

  The one thing that bothers me on this generation new light is the fact that we enlightened ex jw's who are uaually two steps ahead are missing this simple point.They are not by their new light extending to "mammoth lengths" or, and outlaw you surprise me "200 plus years". They clearly speak of two groups overlapping, not numerous overlaps and this is why they are both saving (in their minds) 1914 while still being able to say as they are that this new light still allows for armageddon being immenent.
