Thats sick - exactly how can a 7 year old meet their own critreia - they might as well start baptising babies!
well brothers and sisters,
i just returned home safe from the convention.
as much as i would like to give you the minute by minute breakdown, i won't because this is going to be a freaking long post anyhow.

it always puzzeled me how a person could be resurected it there were no soul.. if it is just a clone with your memories then it is not you - or is it.
are we no more than our memories?.
assuming as the jw's do that there is no soul or life essesnce that leaves the body and can be restored.
If a copy is a perfect copy there is no difference between the two. So to say the one is something and the other one is not is useless.
What? Just becasue you have a perfect copy does not make it the same item, it may be identical, but they are 2 items. This may not matter if we are taking about toaster ovens. The discussion is about life.
are there any brits [english, irish, welsh, or scotts = the lions ] on the site partial to the game of rugby?
for those with no idea what rugby is - it's a little like american football, without the stops, without the protective gear, played in winter, in the rain, hail and sleet [well last saturday anyway].
15 players to a side on the field at a time [unless someone is yellow cards or red carded].
There more than a few commentators saying there were some left at home who should have been here.
Anyway the next game should prove one way of the other how much depth there is to the All Blacks.
A good thing is that this tour has demonstrated that throwing big money at a tour and bringing a huge team, and huge support team, including a spin doctor, does not buy a win. Sort of make us little countries fell we still have a chance.

Where your sense of humor? Point of this conversation is if you assume the bible is some divinely inspired factual book - which the JW's do, then there is either a soul, or no resurection. Can't have one without the other. I find it fun to tie JW's in knots - perhaps I'm just saddistic.

i was lucky to have been brought up in the troof, because if i hadnt, i wouldnt have known about the demons and how they are always looking for opportunities to lead us astray by appearing as ghosties, or by making household objects float, or by getting into our house through items bought from car boot sales.. my first memories of the deemunz was quite early, say aged 5 or 6. i used to think they were at the end of the bed, and so i had to sleep with my legs curled up as tightly as possible, so they wouldnt get my toes.
i cant even begin to think what terrible things they were going to do with my piggies, but sure as the apostles i wasnt going to give them a chance.. aged 7 or 8 i knew the deemunz were after me, because i was special.
i was a jehobas witness.
I'm curious, I notice many do it, why not just write "Jehovah"
Jehobas Witness
Jehobas WItnoid
Jehooba
Anyway I loved the public talks about demons, it was sort of like listening to ghost stories. I never had any encounters though.
Funny thing though - my non witness ex brother in law [ex husband of my wifes sister] had a very bad experience with an Oiuja board when he was a teanager.
They were playing with the board in a tent, and his sisters fiance Tom was thrown out of the tent when he put his hands on the board, well this freakedn them all out so fun with the board was over.
The next day Tom was riding motorcycle across a railway crossing [this was to a fertiliser plant] used by trains just a few time a year and hit by a train and killed.
Tom was a Jehoahs Witness. Creepy isn't it. As I pointed out Tom could not have been a very strong Witness if he was [1] engaged to a worldly girl, and [2] playing with an Ouija board. Anyway it's still a freaky story - and true.
to start my day with: as i was walking down the street towards hell the assembly, i went to cross halfway across the road when a cheese and cracker brother told me that i should "cross at the light so that others can see that jehovah's people are law abiding citizens.
stick my lapel badge up his ass sideways make a good impression so i waited until he was distracted by other jaywalkers and then dashed across the road complied with his suggestion.
once in the building i managed to find a seat next to a guy who looked remarkably like fat bastard was a bit on the plump side.
Mary
Oh my god that brought back unpleasant memories.
Isn't there something better to do - watch grass grow? paint dry? sleep? read a bad book?
i feel unattractive, i feel fat, i feel like poop, i feel like i cant do anything right, i feel stupid, i hate my hair, i wish it was longer, i feel like an idiot.
why does it feel like that i'm the one whos always calling up my friends.
why cant i be the one that friends call to hang out.
A lot of how you come across to other people is in your own head - if you fell confident people recognise this and it attracts them. If you don't feel confident - fake it.
I felt about the same as you do when I was 17 or so. I wanted to die for a while there - add conflicting feeling of guilt from not wanting to be a JW, not wanting to dissapoint parents, having an impressive pron collection which could never be discovered, and the guilt of such a terrible sin as wanking, to normal teenage feelings. It wasn't great.
It was all in my head - now when I look at photos of myself at 19 I can't beleive how good I looked, or how I wasted those looks by focusing inwards - on me - instead of other people. At the time, if I had been more confident I could have had a lot more fun with girls. In the end I did things that gave me confidence, I went hiking, caving, camping, swimming [compeditively], cycling - listening to music, study [technical not JW study].
Anyway - cheer up - it will get better.
as i enjoy these concerts this weekend, where i got to see pink floyd perform.
i am reminded all the more how much us humans like to put on a good show, but really get very little done.
these artist have spent time, money and effort to end world hunger in africa.
Overly cynical - perhaps.
I too enjoyed PinkFloyd and many other artists. On the topic of if it was just a meaniless guesure - perhaps not; Bill Gates, who donates $5,000,000,000 a year to charity, endorses what they are trying as the only workable solution. But free2beme does have a point.
For instance how does wiping debt help the citizens of Africa if it results in propping up a dictator like Mugabe, an arshole who is bulldozing the housing of the poor? How does it help with the internal civil wars and genocide that has been seen. One of the major problems in Africa is tribalism - in which one tribe will try and dominate or eliminate another tribe, how does wiping their international debt solve this? Perhaps any wiping of debt has to be tied to ending dictatorship.
Another problem is pure ignorance. For instance the President of South Africa refuses to accept Aids is the result of HIV, Muslim nationas in Africa claim the Wests advice to use condoms to stop the spread of HIV is a plot to reduce the fertility of muslims. Perhaps any wiping of international debt has to be tied to decent sex education.
In many ways it has been the so called good intentions of the west with aid and medicine that has screwed up the African cultres and balance. It sounds callous - but if a whole heap of children survive that otherwise wouldn't have, when the worlds attention is focused on something more interesting - like the latest war - what then? Is the west going to allow them to immigrate and get a good job? Now that Aisian economys are growing perhaps African's can be the next cheap labour force for the west to exploit to make huge profits - if they can be stabilised. Even allowing for trade barriers [and the US has got to be one of the worst] to enable better acess to trade for African nations - exactly what are they going to export that people want?
It's all very well to preach an end to poverty but it's a lot harder to make happen. At least live8 will get some people thinking about the problem - and even if one country can be changed onto a course for the better, and it takes 20 years, wasn't it worth it?

What kind of game playing god would bother w that?
Exactly!

It looks like the Lions won't have to take Carter out after all....
All Blacks star Daniel Carter will miss the third test against the Lions in Auckland on Saturday from a shoulder injury suffered in his starring role in the series-clinching win in Wellington.
The All Blacks confirmed on Sunday that Carter had a bruised AC joint in his left shoulder and won't play at Eden Park.
Second five-eighths Aaron Mauger has also been forced out of the third test with a hamstring injury.
