  Anyone a fan of the KLF / Bill Drummond

  i am currently on the track of music by the klf, having just got everything associated with pink floyd.

  is anyone else a fan of klf, hell as any one else even heard of them?.

  what makes this a challenge is that bill drummond and jimmy cauty, who formed the kopyright liberation front, distroyed their entire back catalogue some years ago about the same time as they burnt 1,000,000 pounds as a work of art.

  Visiting JW parents... should i be evil?

  my family and i will be visitng my parents this weekend.

  they do not shun us and are in their mid 60's.

  while i'd get satisfaction out of sharing some of the information i've discovered here i don't know that this would be the best thing for them - their whole life and friends are the local jw congregation.

  Resurection with no Soul

  it always puzzeled me how a person could be resurected it there were no soul.. if it is just a clone with your memories then it is not you - or is it.

  are we no more than our memories?.

  assuming as the jw's do that there is no soul or life essesnce that leaves the body and can be restored.

  Pink Floyd reformed and playing at the London Live 8 concert

  my all time favorite band pink floyd has reformed - with roger waters too - for the live 8 concert.. as a teenage i used to chill out to the floyd.

  the song "comfortably numb" somehow resonates with me.

  anyway live 8 starts in an hour or so [1 am nz] and i'll be up all night enjoying it.

  Rugby: Lions or All Blacks?

  are there any brits [english, irish, welsh, or scotts = the lions ] on the site partial to the game of rugby?

  for those with no idea what rugby is - it's a little like american football, without the stops, without the protective gear, played in winter, in the rain, hail and sleet [well last saturday anyway].

  15 players to a side on the field at a time [unless someone is yellow cards or red carded].

  A cavers perspective [should be 'Friends' forum]

  i rememeber a trip with my parents to the waitomo caves in nz when i was about 10. when the guide spoke of how slowly the caves formed, how old they were, my parent were shaking their heads with the knowing superioirty of jw truth.

  what they beleived was the very limestone had been created by the flood compessing the sea bed under all that extra water, as had all the coal deposits etc.

  i started wild caving when i was 15 years old.

  The Mosaic Law and JW's

  jesus did away with the mosaic law.. .

  on this basis jw's eat pork if they wish, do not have to maintain a beard, and do not observe the sabbath.. .

  however the jw's seem to apply aspects of the mosaic law when it suits them - for instance they often quote it to support their postion on blood.

  not to rain on the collective parade but what makes people here think they are appostate?

  most of us have come to a rational conclusion that the jw / wtb is directed by a bunch of old men not directed by the holy spirit, is fallable, and cynically changes doctrine.

  so to be against that is not to be appostate.

  Jimakazi's top dozen places to visit in NZ

  someone on the jwd forum asked for a top 10 places to visit in nz - and si couldn't keep to 10 so here my top dozen.. i personally love the south island, and the west coast is magical.

  you fly in to wellington, take the ferry to picton, south island, then head for the west coast.

  [1] if it's summer head for kiateriteri 1st which has nz's best beach, and the able tasman national park.

  Meat eating preditors will eat grass like a lamb!

  i am always a little pi***d when i see jw illustrations showing lions and tigers in the close vacinity of samll children, lambs and other meaty treats with no safety barriers.

  [why this is paradise is beyound me - these anaimals smell].. so if we assume an intelligent creator, why would he create large meat eating preditors if he really ment them to eat grass?

  every thing about their make up is about specialistation, from teeth, to jaws, to how their stomachs work.
