Ah...still a no, 8 years after df'ing...and still living in the same home. Interestingly, they don't care too much about my kids (5 of them, either - now aged 17 to 23)

Where are all the German posters in this forum?
by ThomasCovenant inaccording to 'bigboards' there are more visitors to this site from germany than from the uk, canada and australia combined.
you'd never think it from the posters.
don't know how accurate the stats are though.. http://www.big-boards.com/board/323/ .

by misguided ini have 6 children, 5 with another ex-jw, now aged 17 to 23, all happy to be out of the org.
however, i'm having trouble with my 6th, 13 years old, but mentally challenged due to a condition called cystic hygroma before he was born.
he is mentally at (my guess from the other 5) a 9 year old's level.

However, I'm having trouble with my 6th, 13 years old, but mentally challenged due to a condition called cystic hygroma before he was born. He is mentally at (my guess from the other 5) a 9 year old's level. His dad has become a devout jw. (His dad got baptized while doing a 30-day jail sentnce (ankle bracelet) and then a year of probation for what he did to my other kids and me - yes, jehovahs holy spit at work.)
I need some simple, yet profound statements to make to him to reaize the "truth" is a lie from you smart people. He knows my position, but he is clearly appologetic to the JWs. Help????

by bobld inthey hold in reverence (godlike, deity) the gb.. when god (gb) speaks there is vital reason to listen.
d.c.. receiving jehovahs' (gb) instructions.d.c.. even when they made mistakes, jesus did not question, their motives.don't question gb motives.

He has no idea I was a JW, let alone apostate. Can any of you seasoned apostates, smart people, think of anything I can say to him to make him think????

My mom throws a not so subtle threat my way
by JWinprotest inmy fade is going well, but my mom knows full well what my thoughts are on the wts.
it seems that she feels comfortable just ignoring the situation in order to keep seeing her grandchildren.. the other day however we were talking about someone we know who is making it very difficult for her parents to see their grandchild.. then out of the blue, my mom turns in my direction and says, that if any of her kids try to deny her from seeing her grandchildren, she would take them to court and get a court order to force them to let her see them.. i know what the message was, and it was loud and clear.
she is letting me know that if i get disfellowshipped there's no way i can keep the kids away from her.

In my experience, even though there is such a thing as grandparent's rights, no. Allow the 'token' visits (say once per year) and they've not got a leg to stand on.

Window Washers
by dontplaceliterature inquestion:.
why do i see so frequently the witnesses referred to as "window washers" on here?
i have been a witness (though only recently "conscious") for my whole life.

...has very much appreciated Farkel's input over the years. Hope he ignores the idiots and continues with his life story, I would sure like to hear more... and thanks for your window-washing advise, Farkel, I never actually got the art of window cleaning until you explained it to me.
...and I knew many JW window-washers and janitors in the org. I even worked for one for a while (janitor-office cleaning in North Vancouver) he was originally a teacher in Saskatchewan. Never knew why they moved to BC to be a janitor, until he sexually abused me, once while at work.
...I think the point of the window-washer thing is not that you can make a lot of money doing widow-cleaning, janitorial work, because obviously you can; I think the derogatory statement about JWs being these things is that many of these people could have been so much more - they may have been able to make a difference if they were able to get an education. Kind of like 'bandontherun'. Spelling mistakes happen, but the poster has valuable things to say.
Myself included, I may have made more money being a janitor, but I am so much happier doing the work I`m doing now, ten years after finally getting my college degree. (and I do make good money) It`s not all about money, it`s about respect and self-confidence.

Best $2500 dollars I spent in my life. I hate having anthing done with my eyes, too; but with enough Ativan I was able to make it through the procedure, which was really quick. I did have pain for about 2 days (had the PRK where they remove the lense, then let it grow back and heal.) I had my right eye fully done for distance, and my left eye only 1/2 corrected, so that I don't need to wear glasses to see close up - you know, that old-people's vision problem. Love it!

I think there is a status level as to what the outcome will be for the elders on the committee. Nepotism seemed to rule. I was 3rd generation, by dad was an elder. I got away with a lot. My other friend was a daughter of a PO...she got away with a lot, too (until she got preggers.) My other friend only had her mom a JW, she got reproved for everything...even though we were there with her.
