July Broadcast Denies That JW Children Die Rather Than Have Medical Care
by BluesBrother inanthony morris 3rd delivered the broadcast this month and advised that lies are circulated that they let children die rather than have medical care .
he says this is so inaccurate as to be a boldfaced lie ...... further he says it is "up to the parents to determine what would be the best treatment for their children" .
now, does this mean that parents are really free to make a decision to accept blood for their minor child, if they so choose?

@morpheus
No watchtower representative physically stands by and prevents it.
Not true. When I had a postpartum hemorrhage after my 4th child was born, and members of the congregation found out about it, I had 2 elders taking turns, in what I am now convinced of, making sure I did not have a transfusion. At the time I was baffled, because I did not have any elder come to the hospital after my previous babies were born where there was no blood issue, but in retrospect I am convinced that is why they were there. Why else would they have been there? Same hospital, previous baby born just 14 months before?

I couldn't help but think about that PSA from 2002 that AMIII presents. I can't remember the exact years that the WTS was affiliated with the UN as an NGO, but I think this may have been produced around the time they were. If I remember correctly, wasn't there some criteria the WTS needed to meet in order to keep their status as an NGO? Possibly this PSA was part of their meeting that criteria?
In viewing the JW.org's 'Protect Your Children' video, what stood out in my mind was that they used the wording, "the WORLD can be a scary place." Kind of misleading if the perpetrator is "an adult you know and trust" that is a not a part of the WORLD by JW definition, but a member of the congregation.

What was your eye opening moment?
by WasOnceBlind inif you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.

2015 convention interviewer praises parents who shunned their kid
by defender of truth inwhat was it that moved your child to return to jehovah?

As a 12-year-old or something close to that (I can't remember exactly), I had a "story" to tell about my witnessing at school and how I got a "study" at a circuit assembly. There were 2 other "youth" telling their "stories" too.
One of the things that always has stuck in my mind was being "suggested" (told) to alter my story to better fit what the agenda was of the program was. I can't remember exactly what that was, but I obeyed and went with their suggestion even though I thought it was somehow deceptive, even as a kid.
On a side note, about 37 years later, that "study" and I are still friends, unlike those who were my "friends" in the ORG. She never became a JW. Had a meal with her a few weeks ago.
Edited to add...**clap***clap***clap!!!! was the response to my altered "story."

I read the book before he passed. I emailed him to thank him. He took the time to email me back, to my astonishment (as Blondie states). He was an amazing and humble man, and his book a legacy to all those who really want to know "the truth about the truth."
