Being raciest, need clarity.

i was kind of in the dark as to what being a raciest was really based on.
so as i get older and think about it more, i thought it might be an interesting question to discuss what you think makes a person raciest and how they base this thinking.. i am going to use the african american racism in this example, as i think that more then any other group.

Okay, wow, did not expect so many people to read in to this thought in such a way. First of all, 'they' equals people who display racism. Now as to crime rates, etc. I will tell you, this is still not a good basis for racism. You can say, 'A black man robbed me' and not be racisit. You are describing a person by a color of skin to find who did this. No different then saying 'a white man, mid thirties, robbed the bank.' Where it becomes racism is when you look at a black man and think to yourself, 'I think he might commit a crime.' This is giving in to stupidity, as you could be looking at a man who is a preacher, a doctor, a father who is sitting there in his mind thinking of how he needs to get milk on the way home for his family.
What I am gathering here though, is that people are saying racism (modern racism) is based on crime rates??? I'm I right about this? As this same time of thinking, is like saying Asians are all good at math, American Indian's have problems with booze, and Jewish people are cheap. While you might find some in these groups that have these issues. It by no means is saying that everyone in this group should be looked at this way. My cousins who are black, come to see me and will joke that when they are at the grocery store with me. They are watched as if they might take something??? I believe they are, as I live in an area of high racism.
Obama came to our town in his run for President in 2008. I did not go see him, but when I was in the parking lot of the mall, I saw about 50 people getting ready to leave in trucks with racist signs and holding confederate flags. People I have no doubt live in town, work in local businesses and spread their ignorant hate to their children.

Were There/Are There A Number Of Gays At Bethel?
by minimus ini remember the "boy's club" mentality from many of the bethelites in the 70's and 80's.
it seemed there were a number of males who were "effeminate" back in the day.. i knew of one guy that was told by the bethel brass that he would "go places" at headquarters if he could learn to deepen his voice and tone down his gestures a bit (and he was told it wouldn't hurt if he ever married a fellow bethelite sister).
this man was extensively used at conventions, became less "gay looking" and got married.. so my question is, did you see effeminate men in bethel?

I have images of elders giving talkings and flapping their hands around and going, "Oh, be nice Satan, you stinky little bastard" and saying in a demonstation, "You just talk to the hand sister, you hear me?" Wait, I see also a gay elder talking to a young pioneer brother, "Wow, you sure do look hot today! You better get out there and kick some booty in the territory." How about a Circiut Assembly where they start saying things like, "Satan comes up to you and offers a sin and your like, as if! I don't play that game sister. No no no!" Waving your finger around. Plus, he could be telling young brothers, "Let me adjust that tie, nothin worse then a limp tie on a man. It needs to be straight firm and long." LOL Hahahahaha. Just had too, so funny to think about it in such a conservative religion.

Growing up a Witness, and having black friends and and relatives. I was kind of in the dark as to what being a raciest was really based on. So as I get older and think about it more, I thought it might be an interesting question to discuss what you think makes a person raciest and how they base this thinking.
I am going to use the African American racism in this example, as I think that more then any other group. They have shown strength and willingness to fight, while also taking the most heat from the white race. So I ask, what is it in the year 2011 that raciest base their racism on. I mean, all hatred in any form has to have a reason I believe.
So I ask, are racist toward black people thinking one of these items.
1.) Do they still hold to the idea that a black person should be a slave? Like they think that seeing them in a normal life is some how wrong and they were meant to be slaves? Do they base this on the same thinking of the ignorant whites of history, who used ideas from the Bible to prove this odd thinking?
2.) Do they feel this way, as they only want to see the crimes commited by black people? Basically watching the news about a white killer, a white woman who kills her children and white robbery suspect. Then they see a story about a black man who commited a rape and think to themselve, 'Look at those black people committing all those crimes. I think all black people are crimminals?' Is that the thinking they have?
I guess what I am getting at here, from having a background that did not grow hatred towards black people. I am perplexed as to what is used to drive it. It seems a stretch to think either way in this modern world, when in my town a lone I see more white people commiting crimes then black people. By large leaps and bounds! Yet, in this small town America location, I can see examples of racism constantly.
What are your thoughts, what drives this insanity in our modern era?

Not much. Pretty much exactly the same. Sure, we get a whiner or two who make statements like you quoted. Which really just means something hit a nerve that bothered them and they do not know how to speak out right. So they make a statement like that. I might be wrong, but I think that kind of thought is said about once a month since this place started. So, take it at that worth, lower it a couple degrees and there it is topped out on total value. Those and the "Good bye, I am leaving the board" are some of my favorites.

Got a cheap deal on a ham, couldn't pass that up, so having a ham dinner. Had a ton of my friends write, "JESUS HAS RISEN" on my Facebook updates. I wanted to laugh at each and every one, but did not. I know it makes them feel good. Basically though, Easter can bite my ass ... just too lame for my taste.
