we just got back from texas'.
they had their annual tax free weekend.
with hotel, gas, food, and shopping, we spent $1000.00 easy.
I think uniforms should be manditory. Kids don't go to school to learn, but to put on a fashion show.
When I graduated girls couldn't wear short skirts or half-shirts, and guys couldn't wear tank tops or hats. This was close to 10 years ago. I ride by schools now and see the girls half naked and the guys sporting every type of hat you can imagine. No wonder kids are having sex at a younger and younger age.

i am talking about bad thinking habits.
ways of thinking that we learned in order to survive, bad ways of thinking that we learned because of wrong information/wrong beliefs that we had.
Procrastination is my worst habit. I put absolutely EVERYTHING off until the last minute, and it's almost as if I have no choice. I simply cannot force myself to do anything until it's almost due, such as term papers, paying bills, job hunting, etc. My last three term papers were started 6-9 hours before the classes began, and I somehow aced all of them.
For me, procrastination is good and bad. It's good in that I'm much better under pressure...I can think more clearly. It's bad in that it puts TONS of stress on the body...rushing and sweating to get something done in time.
my two son's are body builders and i am wonering if they think they can take on the world .
last year my son was in a bar fight and got sucker punched in the eye which required 5 stiches ,now my 21 year old comes home with a huge black eye, the biggest i have ever seen trying to break up a fight.. .
now both these people that got a good shot at my kids where men much smaller in stature and size and seemed to land good punches.
Many body builders have a body fat deficiency, which is not healthy. Our organs are protected by a layer of "good fat", and if we burn that off we're in trouble.

The dangerous thing would be NOT discussing things in a rational manner.
i see the pictures of this starving country and it's a appalling and saddening to see the sea of children in this tragedy.. having said that, what the heck are these people thinking bringing into the world all these children to starve to death???!!!.
along with food, why not also send enough health professionals to educate them about reproduction and its consequences in the midst of their horrible situation???!!!

So religion is the sole problem that prevents Africans from using birth control? Money or lack of availability is not an issue?
I'd like to see more info on this. Before I'd send food I'd send a crate of condoms with explicit instructions on how to use them. This may sound harsh, but sending food while looking away from the cause is not helping the problem...it's perpetuating it. They need to be properly educated. They need to realize that if they CHOOSE not to use birth control, and they CHOOSE to have sex, they're going to spread aids and bring starving children into the world. No one other than the severely mentally challenged is beyond being taught.
We all have free will. If their religion is causing them to KILL THEMSELVES, someone needs to slap them upside the head and let them know. Religion is supposed to enrich our lives, not destroy them.

I thought about doing a similar experiment in which dice would be blindly thrown into an open box and the board would be asked the outcome. I may try it later tonight and see what happens...if I can find another willing participant.
You suggest that if genuine, a plethora of knowledge could be obtained from the board. Who's to say that, if there are spirits amongst us, they'll be helpful in any way? Humouring the possibility that they exist, perhaps their only intent is to entertain themselves. I'm not even sure if they'd be willing to participate in the dice experiment. I've been doing a lot of reading on spirit boards, and most "experts" say that you shouldn't ask trivial questions.
One thing that I haven't heard explained is if spirits ARE channeled through talking boards, why do we need to touch the planchette in order for it to move? If they're powerful enough to control my actions, or whatever they're supposed to be controlling, why not simply move the thing from letter to letter automatically?

Good points. I don't believe half the stuff I see on those paranormal programs (such as the orbs), but some of it has no explanation that I can think of.
