Thanks for telling us your story. I only know to well what must be going through your head at this point in time and I was never disfellowshiped (they haven't caught me yet). Hopefully your jw relatives wake up and see how this cult is destroying families. The reaction from some of your relatives will surprise you, some will quietly support you while others whom you thought would support you will desert you. Remember we are all here to help you get through this difficult time of your life.

Hi from Perth, Western Australia

i was in the jw's till about 1999 in perth.
i sort of thought the advice "never complain and never explain" was appropriate, so i just stopped going to the kh!

Welcome to the forum Jon, it's good to have another aussie on board. Best of luck in finding some of your old friends, hopefully a few of them by now are ex j dubs. I travel to Perth twice a year on business and I reckon it's the second best City in Australia with Sydney being number one of course.

THE NEWS IS BIGGER THAN DATELINE, BBC, CBC, ETC.
by AndersonsInfo inif i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!

I'm so excited, didn't sleep a wink last night, there are so many possible scenarios running through my mind. I spoke to a few ex aussie Jdubs yesterday everyone is guessing as to what this big news is and believe me the suspense is killing everyone. My gut feeling tells me that it will be "follow the money" but that's just a wild guess. One thought was that maybe they made a large donation to some government or political party in return for some favour? Maybe I better just wait.

Negative JW's
by pc init's funny to me to notice, for the most part jw's are such negative people.
when i speak with my dad or brother who are staunch jw's the glass is always half empty.
everything is depressing.

Negativity seems to be part of the witness culture. My JW parents and relatives are always so negative. Each time I have conversation with them they will always have negative comments to make. They thrive on the news of disasters natural or man made, sickness or when someone dies" the end must be so close".
A couple of months ago I ran into a brother whom I grew up with. A relative of his had just died, he commented to me with that typical JW negative tone, the end must be so close because lots of people are dying. I thought, for God's sake his relative whom had just passed away was in his seventies. I commented it's sad, but unfortunately people have been dying for thousands of years and will continue to die.
When I think back to my j dub days I always had to fight those negative thoughts. It was always a challenge to stay positive, but when you attend five meetings a week where you are reminded over and over again how terrible life is, it has to influence your personality.

Elder's School Notes Part 1: Quit being so materialistic, you slackers!
by sir82 inask, and ye shall receive.. i will herewith post my notes from the km06 elders school i recently attended.
i will post this in 6 parts, to give people a chance to read smaller chunks and comment on them.. a couple of introductory notes: i wrote an awful lot of stuff, and will not post everything.
for each talk, i will post 3 sections: (1) general synopsis, (2) personal thoughts & observations, (3) particularly egregious quotations.. the primary speakers, who delivered more than 1/2 of the talks, were a circuit overseer and a guest from brooklyn bethel.. to protect anonymity, we will refer to the sadly inane circuit overseer as brother sico.. and the old-timer lifelong brother from bethel, completely out of touch, as brother bethel-coot.. one more introductory comment: it seems the main points the society wanted to send to elders were:.

I got a nice surprise yesterday...
by Mastodon inmy wife and i started fading about 2 1/2 years ago, but for different reasons.
she had noticed the lack of love and justice in the congregations, even experienced some firsthand and the abusive conduct of elders against the r&f.
on the other side, i was starting my research on the wt and had pretty much decided i didn't want any part in the borg.

We will be having a second "real" Christmas this year. Last years was a bit low key but this year the Christmas Tree will be setup in the main living area of the house, last year we hid it from the relatives. The kids are so excited they talk about it everyday.

Nov KM: Hospital Visits and Disaster Relief Donations
by doinmypart in.
a couple of points from the u.s. branch november 2005 km.. in the u.s. there is a federal law (hipaa) protecting a patient's privacy.
the km announces what a publisher must do when admitted to a hospital, if he/she wants to receive elders visits.. a question box discussing donations made to the worldwide work rather than specific disaster relief.. see the attachments.. .

Re; Disaster Relief Donations.
This article made my blood boil, I couldn't believe what I was reading, have they no shame????
They wish to remain unaccountable for all there actions. They will go to any length to ensure that no government authority comes sniffing around asking questions about where all the money is going.

Why is Jehovah organization or Jehova's Witness so critizise?
by toer5777 inwhy not the catholic church or others religions?
i dont understand that how a religion that douesn't go to war, don't buy guns, they preach for free they dont get paid, there not rasist, they love there neighbors they treat others well, they dont bother you if you dont want them to pass by your house they wont.
why so much hate, if they go strictly by what the bible says.

toer5777, It's good to see that you have taken the first step to becoming a free thinker by joining us on this forum. If you stick around you will learn the "REAL TRUTH ABOUT THE TRUTH".
As for being critical of JW'S, it's more about exposing the organisation for what it is, manipulative and controlling, resulting in so many peoples lives been ruined.
Honestly, you must have your head in the sand if you truly believe that the WTS never criticizes any other person or organisation.
