Do you think that JW's leaders are going to announce a new date in 2006?
by booker-t ini was reading a thread here the other and it mentioned that the assembly for 2006 will be "delivance at hand".
is this going to be like 1974 when every jw's thought the end was going to come in 1975?
i don't think jw's leaders would be that stupid again and build jw's for another date-setting letdown.

However, the same once who lived through the fiasco of 1925 were around for the fiasco of 1975. I just question if they really learn from this sort of event. I wonder how cynical the leadership is to, in terms of knowingly using it as a ploy to boost sagging numbers (albeit artificially)

What musical instrument do you play?
by anewme ini spent many many years peforming on the cello before becoming a witness at 18 and being encouraged to quit all my symphony associations etc which i obediently did.
i was a soloist once with a community symphony and it was a wonderful experience!
i have a recording of the concerto i performed.

Looking at both of those links, I get the impression that its arguing for a certain point of view. I was hoping to be able to argue against certain witness teachings in a non-leading way. Not attempting to teach something new, simply attempting to dismantle the old.

I didn't want to argue from a scriptural (or strictly scriptural) point of view. Though I haven't read that book, I assumed that was what it was doing. Its arguing about things that I find a bit boring anyways, such as the Trinity. I guess I would have to really read it to take a look.
I was just thinking more about common topics like 1914, FDS & the last days and some of the very common arguments that come up again & again.
Is that what this book is? Can anyone comment who has read it?

1914 is used as the basis of authority for the Faithful & Discreet Slave. Should something so shaky be used as a basis for authority? (watch brains explode)
