Mister Farkels Opus.

Should we let 13 yr. old daughter go with JW sisters and husbands?
by Robotnomore inmy wife and i resigned from the wtbs last year.
we have a 13 yr. old daughter left at home.
we have 2 married daughters that have nothing to do with us but want to associate with their little sister.

Young kids and teenagers are usually in awe of their older siblings, and will listen and accept their views, particularly if they're "cool". The kid will listen and probably accept what the older sibling says. After all, the older brother or sister is still young, he/she knows better than the "old" parents... So be careful.
But of course, it will all depend on what kind of relationship you have with your 13 year old. If your daughter loves you, respects your opinion and knows that she can count on you, she may not fall for anything the older sister tries to pull....

Valis : I adopt you too. Actually, if I had started making babies at the right time (18), I could have a son your age.... But noooooooo.... I had to wait almost 20 more years.... So, now I am the mother of a young teenager.... And I should be a grandmother !

Why are they sabotaging the president's plan to bring democracy to Iraq, as we restored democracy to France? Why are they doing this?

France was under attack from Germany, but never lost its democracy....
The sole consolation of our mismanaged diplomacy is that it is the harmless French who have taken up the anti-American banner,
if the French are so harmless, why all the fuss ? and the French don't spend much time thinking about the Americans. They have their own lives to live, in their beautiful country, where the food and the wine are so good, where culture is all around, where history is much older than just a couple hundred years.... For most French people, Americans are just a bunch of strange, excentric, barbaric know-it-all, to be avoided if at all possible.

but it is what my wife (brought up as a jw) informed me this morning, after i said that i think the wbts is a cult.
the thing is, she has kind of "challenged" me to prove it!

I am sure you will get many great answers to your inquiry. I just want to say that, as many other groups which appeared out of nowhere in the 19th Century (Mormons, Adventists, Christian Science (?)....) the Bible Students (aka. JWs) are certainly a Cult. They followed a man, first Russell, then Rutherford, then Knorr, then Fred Franz, now follow a group of men.... all their meetings are brainwashing sessions.... The followers are used as slave labor to distribute the literature printed by the org. Fear is the motivating factor.... If you're not one of us, you'll die....

SMURFS ?!
by mattnoel incan anyone tell me what was wrong with the smurfs ?.
i heard some horrible rumours about them as a kid, something about some kid taking a smurf to the kingdom hall, it making a whole lotta noise and then trotting off up the aisle until some burley elder threw it out the back !.
while we are on this point anyone ever have things taken away from them for being demonic etc

Rayzor, you're funny actually, I never was a JW, never have set foot in a KH, and I really love the Smurfs, or Les Schtroumpfs, as we call them in France....
