  Farewell To All For Now

  just wanted to say farewell for a time.

  i'm leaving for basic training in the army on monday.

  what is your idea of paradise?.

  imagine we could have an ideal world to live in , what would you like to see changed to make the world better for you and other people.. also what personnaly would make you happy just in your little part of the world.. does any of you answers fit in with the witness view of paradise?

  PARADISE
  ... A lush valley crossed by a sparkling clean river full of trouts and salmons, forests full of wildlife and berries and mushrooms, a little farm with cows, sheep, chickens, turkeys and ducks...
  A loving husband and good friends living in other farms 10 miles away, at least...

  bad news again.

  my little grand daughter has the pneumonia and other viral infections and is very ill and in the hospital.

  this really hurts.

  Is Jehovahs witnesses a bad name?

  is jehovahs witnesses a bad name?.

  i've always thought jehovahs witnesses to be a strange name for a religion.of course names are nouns , like mormom , catholic etc but isn't jehovahs witnesses more a verb?.

  of course its used as a noun but it describes an particular action.for instance if i was a witness in court for say jack you could say i was jacks witness.but that doesnt describe me as a person it desribes what i was doing at a particular time, giving evidence about jack.. so isnt the name jehovahs witnesses describing only one particular act that a christian can do?shouldn't a name describe a group as a hole rather than one thing that they do.. or is being witnesses about jehovahs goodness all that they should do?.

  Good point.
  I had an argument once with a JW lady who was trying to convert me...
  It was about "the vindication of Jehovah's name"...
  To me it seemed like they were worshipping a name, just a name.
  She said Jesus himself told us to pray this way...
  but in the "our Father" prayer that Jesus taught us, there is no mention of the name Jehovah...
  "thy name be sanctified" or (que ton nom soit sanctifié) (in french) does not mean that we have to worship the name, butwe need to appreciate what it stands for.. anyway, she left shortly thereafter.

  i asked jesus to help me be just a christian, and no more religion in my life.

  when he answered, i told him who i was, and that i just sent off a letter ... but i wanted to talk to him to see if he might be available on the weekend i was there.

  ray would not hear of it, and asked me to stay at his home for the weekend with he and his wife.

  Well, you're on this forum, so by now you should know a little more about the beliefs of JWs, and why so many leave the sect... Why would you want to go back, can't you stand on your own, do you need minute by minute instructions from a group of old men in Brooklyn to show you how to live your life ?
