a few weeks ago i posted about having some difficulty with my swim training for an upcoming triathlon.
well, i finally was able to overcome it and the swim clicked with me last week.
i was able to swim across the lake and back without panicking twice last week.
way to go princess!

doodle v- I know... I am so sad it's over but felt satisfied in how it ended. I was listening to the soundtrack the other day (vol 2) and yeah, it has that song by SIA on it. Good choice to show claire driving off in her new hybrid in the end after she blew up at some lady in a past episode for driving a 'gas-guzzling sh!tbox suv." I was thinking wait a second you are driving a hurst...that has got to take up even more gas...
I felt satisfied with the ending montage, seeing as how the show centers around these underlying tones of death it seemed right on. lol, yeah david looked unrealistically hilarious...! So long sfu...I sure will miss ya.

one of the most difficult things for ex-jehovah's witnesses (heretofore referred to as ex-jws) to deal with is the loss of friends and family -- "loved ones.
" rejection hurts, and the pain seems to be very intense for some.
ex-jws seem validated to feel so awful since most humans naturally believe that love is a human need.

being a chubbier woman most of my days - i've only known who i am in this body.
i've now taken steps to reduce my size (i'm taking this seriously - i've decided to slim down & now "own" my number).
i've always been a confident person, regardless of being chubby.
congrats and good luck in your efforts to get healthier, loubelle. who cares about weight and numbers I say. It is how you feel on the inside that will determine what you exude outwardly. sounds like you've got the self-confidence thing down. plenty non-"chubby" gals feel like crap on the inside and it sort of shows.
you may notice you want to check yourself out every time you pass something shiny or reflective. nothing wrong with that.

just curious....because i left before being baptized, my parents handled all the donations and i never gave them a penny.
how many posters on this board actually gave large or not so large sums of money to the jws, either directly, or as 'gifts' to pioneers, cos, etc??

Personally, I'm not as much bothered by the money I gave in donations,...I figure it just about covers production and operations for what I contributed,...but more so is the cash I dropped on things associated with the wts indirectly...like endless supplies of pantyhose (ugh), assembly costs, etc.
The potential earnings some could have made had they not avoided college or obtained specialized skills via vocational training...I can see how that would be disturbing.

my dr. had prescribed advair for my asthma.
for a 90 day supply it will cost me $75.

yes ,yes, and yes. Reminds me...when I went to the ENT doctor a few months ago to get my tonsils removed. She asked me if I experienced heartburn. I said, "no, never, but sometimes if I eat too fast I get a stomach ache." completely irrelevant to heartburn.
She sent me on my way that day with a huge box of heartburn medicine samples, you know, the purple pill, and promised to write me a prescription upon return. but i told her i never get heartburn. ever.
My old neighbor was a pharmaceutical salesman...It's been said these doctors get vacations and various 'prizes' out of pushing these prescriptions. I threw the samples away. I should have sent them to jschwehm.
warning: this post may be damaging to your biases.. it seems to me that the "danger" the witnesses pose to larger society is, well, pretty damn small.
just think about it: the witnesses are almost not involved in politics at all, except the occassional "freedom of religion and speech" issues they take to various courts, issues i am happy to support the witnesses in, even if i strongly disagree with their beliefs.
you will not see jws supporting banning abortions or gay marriages or a whole host of other civil liberties and freedoms that evangelicals rally around like the village people searching for frankenstein's monster.
Ok, sure, I would agree that the witnesses are harmless. If by "harmless" you mean either, "do not contribute to elections of infantile-like fascists...or, incapable of taking over the world with their crazy ideologies." Yes, in said matters...they still remain harmless.

Was that really from their website? I couldn't locate those particular "contributions to the community." And believe me, I looked. What is the deal with them always trying to toot their own horn with these insane tidbits? Deatils that do not even add up? Actually, I'm glad they do this sort of thing because with closer examination you can see patterns of exaggeration with everything that comes out of the wts in all of its hilariousness. I mean, a "literacy campaign"? "Teaching 26,000 Nigerians how to read"...ya, over the course of thirty years! That's like two people per month! that is some campaign.
Also noteworthy is that they even mention mass genocides from Rwanda or Nazi Germany...do I read this correct? Are they like basically saying, "listen, the fact that we refused to get involved in these bloody massacres involving millions of innocent lives, is it not thus clear, friends, that we only promote racial and ethnic unity?"
Ha, I could go on, but no, really I can't.
