  Do you have an Evil Streak?

  sometimes people do things too me that just rub me up the wrong way... and out comes evil miss peaches....!

  i can't help it... this weird evil side of my personality displays itself.

  for example if i'm in traffic and someone is tailgating me i deliberately slow down to a couple of kms per hour below the speed limit.

  Skirting the issue

  what argument is put forth that women must only wear dresses or skirts to the meetings or in service and are not permitted to wear slacks?

  where does it say it's wrong for sisters to wear pants, and how are they convincing women in 2005 to buy into this?

  i remember many bitterly cold chicago mornings with frozen legs running to doors and back to the warm car as quickly as possible, wearing a skirt which was ridiculous and inappropriate to the weather conditions.

  ive been reading this book by Lesley Gill called, The School of the Americas. its about US backed terrorism, blowing the lid off of the latin american terrorist training camps throughout the United States, which are hosted, funded, and 100% backed by the US. the trainees are unleashed into s. america to further oppress the economically challenged working poor.
  
  it takes courage to go against the status quo, as Gill has done and her amount of field work is impressive. im not certain on how her book is received outside of the political anthro class in which the book is required reading...but believe me when i say it is quite ill-received within this realm. its like i am amongst a group of pure nationalists. bush-backers who get uncontrollably excited at the very thought of someone suggesting 9/11 brought a level of long over due accountability to US soil. i may not entirely agree with her pro-activist worldview, but i respect her for it. i am getting eaten alive on the discussion board forums because of it.

  Satan Vs. God: Tally of Destruction

  can anyone rack up the death and destruction of these two for comparison?.

  god has the destruction of all life on earth save for noah and his family and 2 of each animal.

  also if god created satan, doesnt this make the almighty one just another blood-guilty sob, seeing as how things turned out. even if he is a hypothetical spirit creature....
  
  he is in charge. he could stop it at any time. he should at least share in the blame. and that is being generous.

  Have you seen Capturing The Friedmans Documentary?

  i'll be as upfront as this documentary filmmaker was in his story telling: i'm a survivor of eleven years of sexual abuse at the hands of my father.

  my 3 siblings also were abused as were other children.

  besides them telling me, i often witnessed the incidents.

  hi morris...i saw it a couple of years ago when it first came out. i found it pretty disturbing yet i couldnt stop watching it. like a train wreck. the thing that moved me the most was listening to the wife and her naivete to the entire situation.
  
  thanks to that doc, i cannot hear anything about great neck long island and not think about computer classes, child molestation, and kiddie porn.
  
  also i could not believe that oldest son is living a semi normal life in the city with a decent looking lady friend who somehow sees past the whole child molester stigma he now carries around.

  im w. GBL on explosions in the sky. the song, greet death is the best and if it doesnt make you feel something, let me check your pulse. also like TS said...feist! so good. i took leolaia's suggestion and am really getting into it... her voice is chill inducing.(shaboom shaboom)
  
  other relaxing music id pick...my bloody valentine (loveless), iron & wine, and the postal service and i love the song, just like honey from the jesus and mary chain. i wish the entire album was equal in total relaxation ;o)

  Haunted Hall

  was it just me, or did anyone else experience unsettling, wierd vibes inside a kingdom hall?

  it used to creep me out, it felt almost eerie and spooky inside.

  sometimes we opened the doors on saturday afternoon to clean, and it was all dark and sinister inside when we entered, and it almost felt like something was in there, not good vibes, either.

  the kh and its decor is creepy for sure...you would sit there and wonder exactly how many demons could fit behind those mustard yellow floor-length curtains hanging on stage. we actually had these jaggedy metal sconces that were so rough around the edges they could be used as weapons...lined up all over the walls. that only added to the eerieness.
  
  to watch the movie, The Virgin Suicides, is to understand the unsettling feeling of walking into a 70's style kh and sitting through an entire session.
