did anyone catch the new series 30 days by morgan spurlock the other night?
i loved his documentary on mcdonalds in supersize me.
i had to buy it in fact.. for anyone who hasn't heard of it yet, the premise of the show is to put people(and himself) into an almost opposite position of what they are used to.
Thanks for the heads up on that Jourles... I saw his documentary, Supersize me, last year and found it to be a real eye-opener. Gosh, I cannot even bring myself to order yogurt at McDonalds let alone the other stuff they are selling...especially after seeing him and his near death chicken mcnugget overdose. Actually, once in a pinch I ordered their version of a veggie burger and it was, well, gross.
He seems like a talented filmaker. I'll try and check the show out.
actually i have a friend in mexico who wants a green card.
i cannot see any purpose in marrying a very large, spanish speaking, gay man in order to get him a green card.

To the "freedom-lovin'" douchebag who left the "critique" of my bumper stickers on my car: You question how a "veteran" can be against war. I assume from your quotation marks that you doubt my status as a vet. My car is right in front of my house-why not stop by sometime (before or after I get home from the PhD program your tax money is funding) so I can show you my medals? Better yet, I'll take one that your führer Dubya gave me for going beyond the call of duty on an aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf and shove it straight up your "patriotic" @ss. To ask how a veteran can be against war is like asking how a physicist can be against the H-bomb. You do what you're told and hope that you never have to use what you know. War is not fun, it's not a video game; people really die, asshole. So come on by and we will settle this "man to man," as you say. Just don't be surprised when the veteran who opens the door is a woman. The 19th century is over; not everyone in the military is a white Christian man, you sexist, dumb#ss b*tch.

Big Sur, California for its scenic highway 1, giant redwoods, plunging cliffs, ocean mist...aahh. what's not to love.
I agree about the Olympic & Cascade Ranges. Both beautiful in their own right and where else (in the states) can you visit a mountain range, rainforest, and sea-stack lined beach...all in a day, such as the case in the Olympic peninsula.

I like to flick little kids in the ear and look away. I rush to the elevator in my apartment building and hit my floor number hurridly so the next people have to wait. Then i push all of the buttons and get off. I don't know what type of personality that is but it can't be good

personable, optimistic, extrovert unless around over the top loud people... then I stay quiet... an abstract-relational thinker. notably...for some reason, since turning the big two seven, i ve been reverting back to childhood, very unapologetically. (immaturity: its the new growing up)
by that, i mean you do not want to have children.. i have been told since birth it would not be safe for me to have children, so i never even considered it.
i never went through a grieving period because the concept of having babies was not something i once had and lost.
i always envisioned myself as a happy career woman.. i recently married and am still sure i don't want children.
Child free by choice here. For most of the reasons already listed. Also, it is possible I may lack some maternal instincts. Never once looked at a little baby and thought...oooh, now I want one of those. Thankfully hubby feels the same way.
One of my friends got knocked up again...silly girl. This time she is having a girl. She and her husband asked me to help pick out the name, adding they had to like it as a condition. That was two months ago...I haven’t called her back since. It is too intimidating. That alone is too much responsibility!

of course, as a jw, this was a no no.
instead, we were supposed to help spread fear, ignorance and guilt to the rest of humanity.

For those of you reading your http://english.aljazeera.net ... you know of the Italian female relief worker for Care in Afghanistan that was abducted recently. Things like these keep me from considering this type of work. Seems irrational maybe. Its one facet of fear I am still trying to get a handle on.

Actually the naysayers are not kh-goers, but rather, common worldy folk. He is not a witness and I haven’t attended kh for nearly four years. But he is what they call a non-denominational Christian and so there is still plenty of religious difference in that he would like for me to be “saved” and that I do not want any part of “religion” or Jesus as my savior or whatever. So seeing as how I classify jw’s non-denoms, and the rest of the lot of organized religion devotees as being one in the same… I suspect old-fashioned head of the house thinking could possibly be at play. But I am not one to allow that sort of trite conventional thinking keep me down. Lol.
And he is a steady working aerospace engineer…no chance in him joining me, I am afraid. Thanks for the encouragement to pursue it…with any luck I will write from Spain next spring!!
That’s cool your wife is a “liberal” jw. Her liberal thinking may be the very thing that gets her out, so to say.

My mind is a blank right now on which organizations to refer.. but there is always the Peace Corps. Even as a little indoctrinated dub, to me, the peace corps seemed a lot more interesting and rewarding than pioneering or going through Gilead.
I am curious as to your wife's view on this? I only ask because I am considering studying in Spain for the first part of next year (about 4-5 mos.) and my husband is half not taking me seriously, and half flipping the switch over the idea. And when I get the slightest glimpse of understanding from him, third party naysayers are voicing their, "your-marriage-is-doomed-if-you-continue-to-be-that-independent" opinions.
